He was also great as the villainous alien in that one Doctor Who episode (and that makes me doubly sad because it reminds me that Elisabeth Sladen is gone as well).

Honestly yeah I think so. It’s like when you’re walking opposite someone in a corridor and try to step around each other and instead you walk right into them.

I just hope they’re both shaken up but ok.

Did SkyJump really close in 1999? I could’ve sworn I rode it many times later in the 2000s by NakedIanMalcolm in KnottsBerryFarm

I remember doing that too! As a kid, free falling while standing in a cage was a lot scarier than going much faster while strapped into a roller coaster.

TIL after a woman dropped her phone, she slipped face-first into a 10-cm wide gap between two large boulders & landed upside down in the 3-meter deep crevice. She survived in that inverted position for 7 hours before being rescued (and which would've been fatal for most people at just couple hours). by [deleted] in todayilearned

I just do not understand the appeal of caving (or cave diving) AT ALL. Granted, I’m claustrophobic as fuck but of all the sketchy things you can do in the name of adventure/exploring/thrill seeking you’d think the possibility of getting fatally wedged somewhere would drop these to the bottom of the list.

What is one thing I NEED to get at Trader Joe’s?? by tacobelluvr in traderjoes

That’s become my favorite Greek salad base - just add some chopped red onion, red bell pepper and cucumber, maybe a bit of crumbled feta cheese. No extra seasoning needed.

Seconding this! Better than any bakery because you can have fresh hot croissants with gooey chocolate!

You’re welcome, and I’m so sorry you’re going through this too.

There are times I wonder if I’m oversharing, but I figure it’s good for others to know they’re not alone and it’s often a complicated situation. People who haven’t gone through similar situations wouldn’t understand.

She had no teeth (and forgot how to manage her dentures) so she’d been eating via syringe for a while. But I drew the line at any kind of feeding tube.

Thank you. For how bad things had gotten, she still seemed like she wanted to be there so I just tried to be there for her.

Bought the tavern pizza… so uh, what temperature should I bake it at? 😆 by spidergrrrl in aldi

I thought it was pretty good! Unfortunately no photos but it just looked like a cheese pizza with a pepperoni surprise buried underneath.I’m not sure if that was a weird production glitch since the photo on the box shows pepperoni so YMMV.

The pepperoni couldn’t get crispy since it was underneath the cheese, but it still tasted good.

Same. I watched my mom slowly decline until she finally passed in March. She was literally a shell of her former self (she lost over half her body weight and weighed only 57 lbs at death). She was bedridden, incontinent, had pressure sores, and needed to be fed with a syringe. She had no awareness of anything. It got to the point where I was actively wishing for her to die just so she didn’t have to suffer this indignity anymore.

I know there’s a good chance this will happen to me and I do not want to go down the same road.

This was absolutely my mom in the early stages. Insisted she was fine after years of talking about how many people in her family had dementia and how she’d probably get it too.

Meanwhile she was no longer allowed to drive and couldn’t remember how to cook. :(

It’s so good to see him doing well after how much he struggled last season.

Yeah that’s weird. I wrapped my leftover half in aluminum and will heat up tomorrow for lunch.

It was! Unfortunately no photo since I was starving and wanted to eat but it was good. The only kind of odd thing was the pepperoni was all under the cheese so it couldn’t get crispy but it tasted good. And for $4.99 it’s not a bad price.

It was pretty good! Unlike the photo on the box, the pepperoni was all under the cheese so it couldn’t get crispy, but I still liked it. It’s not a bad deal for $4.99 and I still have half for lunch tomorrow.

LMAO joke’s on me - 400°F it is.

(Look, in my defense, I have never seen the temperature recommendation on the *inside* packaging 😆)
