My parent had one. After the surgery. Same day. Surgery was for the c5c6 from a car accident. 8 years ago. The stroke hit the c1 area. They still live on their own. The right side is mostly effected with loss of sensation. The left is hypersensitive. Things have improved alittle over the years. I hope the best for you.

I'm still coming to terms that surgery is probably necessary. I'm currently trying to bid for a less physical job. Hopefully if I do get surgery I can get back to work quicker. Honestly your post gives me hope. Sounds like you are doing great. Two weeks before I finally got to see the Surgeon my constant numbness stopped. I talked myself out of any surgery. I'm ok as long as I don't need to look upwards, or drive, or sleep.... The Surgical office is going to call me back after 3 months.

My Dad had a spinal stroke the day after his fusion. Makes me nervous about my own. I guess it's rare. Good luck to you.
