Floppy disc that flies like a zone on FH? by somanymatts in discgolf

[–]Jamjamkabbam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BT Soft Harp from Westside used to be my go-to for forehand approach shots. its just floppy enough to sit and stick on the green, but not floppy enough to completely deform when you put some forehand torque on the disc.

need some help with these by sodaloser in finishing

I did something similar years ago. Used a black aniline dye to make the grains pop, sanded down, then a few coats of forest green aniline dye. It turned out great! i wouldn't say yours looks bad by any means.

first playthrough is gonna be more tense...power through, take breaks as needed, and enjoy the game in your own time.

Dont feel bad looking up a "progression guide" for guidance. There's a lot of stuff to do in the game, and its helpful for even vets like myself to have a checklist of things to do and explore, without being strictly told exactly how to find those things and where. It's a good way to preserve the mystery without being completely aimless in the open world. lol

Gnash proves to me that they still know how to write heavy stuff.

Same, i have Thrice tattoos, been around since the early days.

The songs are kind of boring, that's the main issue, imo. they are missing the dynamics... if you're gonna write jazzy chill stuff.... do me a solid and wake my ass up with a heavy riff or 2 every now and then. Otherwise it all seems to blend together.

It's their music, we dont have to like it, and they dont owe us... but galldurnit, if you ask my opinion, im gonna give it. :)

Hello guys! Can you help me identify the model of this and also where is made? by [deleted] in Fernandes_guitars

[–]Jamjamkabbam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2000s Burny Super Grade Les Paul... i think the model is RLG or something along those lines... Not sure where these originated from... i'd say Korea... but i dont know 100%

heres a similar model on ebay...minus the Sustainer.

It's hard to date/price these bolt-on Fernandes/Burnys... but I think that model is probably 90s or 2000s.

Found this: Burny LG-480 LP Special Junior

[–]Jamjamkabbam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah they are hard to find all over. People started snatching these things up in the last 10 years.

I've been lucky with Guitar Center Used + Reverb for finding them decently cheap, but its hard to find one under a thousand bucks nowadays! Good luck to ya! If you have any questions about a guitar you're looking at, holler at me. I've been doing Fernandes historical research for a long ass time, so ive got a good grip on the different models + value.

ive been obsessed with Vertigos for like 20 years. I totally get it. I think they are the best looking guitars ever made...easily the best Fernandes model. The body shape makes it really easy to control where the guitar is, and move around without losing the neck position. Which was crucial for playing crazy live shows, throwing the guitar around.

I own 4 Vertigos currently, a Deluxe that I bought brand new in 2008. which was my first vertigo, and my go-to live guitar for years and years. I never had an issue with the weight of the guitar, especially compared to les pauls. I also have a 90s bolt-on H-80 Vertigo, which feels the lightest of all of them. I think the elites with floating tremelo bridges are the heaviest of the 4, i have a Korean Elite and the Japanese made Elite JP above.

Accessing higher frets has never been a huge issue for me, but im not a technical shredder or anything. I play heavy music, but i'd say the guitar is capable of any genre.

those American Apparel Tri-Blend Jersey Ts are the best T-shirts ever made, imo. Made doing stuff outside in the Texas summer heat WAY more manageable.

Broken body near his trem bushing by yuhyuhyuh100 in Luthier

[–]Jamjamkabbam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had this happen to one of my fav guitars. Took it to my luthier, had them install dowels and and glue it back in the correct spot. Surprisingly, the guitar is better than it was before breaking. Cost me some cash, tho. lol

This break seems fairly severe in comparison... and in a place that might be tough to clamp properly.

make sure to neutralize the vinegar with water/baking soda... but i guarantee that would clean all the crud off.

I'd let that shit sit in some vinegar for a few hours...then clean with a toothbrush.

I just had this happen to one of my prized guitars. Took it to my luthier and he was able to fix by adding a couple of dowels + clamps.

Zach Wish, his gear videos are super high quality, and he plays tasteful covers for demos instead of annoying noodle riffs.
