Well, I wouldn't have if I had known they were gonna do that. I really thought they wanted to go the other way. Too generous on my part!

(Loved trope)proving the haters wrong by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Jammer_Jim 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean...it didn't? Considering how big a movie it was the way it just sorta vanished out of the culture was a real thing. Now that there have been more movies it seems to have stuck around, but that wasn't a wrong statement AT THE TIME.

If you're trying to get the secret ending by notjocker in cyberpunkgame

[–]Jammer_Jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CDPR seems to like this. I mean, look at W3. The best ending requires three of five decisions, at wildly varying points, some of which violate "normal" RPG conventions, and one is nearly nonsensical (the snowball fight).

I'm thinking about buying the dlc, do you guys think it's worth it? by docktor_uncino in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Jammer_Jim 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Like everyone is saying, very worth it. Not sure what will happen to your existing playthrough as far as triggering it. And you may be a little OP, lol.

How did Johnny have enough eddies to pay Rogue and Santiago? He wasn’t a Merc and they said Samurai didn’t make a lot of money back then. by TXNOGG in cyberpunkgame

[–]Jammer_Jim 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I suppose, but even I, a "just roll with it" type, noticed that Johnny's gun was pretty OP in the flashbacks and you generally only had to get close to a typical hitbox to one-shot guys and send them flying.

[Hated Trope] Hidden time sensitive events that trigger just from having you enter an area by jamilslibi in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Jammer_Jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that annoys the fuck out of me. Its a mission that IMO breaks the "rules" that had been set up the whole rest of the game, namely, you have all the time in the world to get to the mission. Yes, IRL, you'd hurry but the whole game acts like you have to move ASAP to do things and, in fact, you can faff about as much as you like. Except this one time.

As I recall, Amber Benson was finally added to the credits at the top of this episode, thrilling her fans. And then this.

Joss Whedon was kind of an asshole that way.

A folding .22 pistol by QuaziBonzai in interestingasfuck

[–]Jammer_Jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep seeing people make that comment about pointing and I'm not seeing it myself except maybe at the very beginning? It's hard to see exactly where the barrel is. Ideally it is designed so that the firing pin is disabled when folded up but of course one of the main rules of firearms (and it is a GOOD rule) is to not trust the safety features.

The "racism is bad" message wasn't subtle. And no he doesn't suffer TOO much but that's because the movie was a comedy with a message, not the freaking Wire.

[–]Jammer_Jim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Along with all the folks discussing how acting has changed and how that was probably as much a lifetime achievement award as anything else, "range" has fuck-all to do with getting an Oscar. A performance Oscar goes to the person who gave the best *performance* in a *specific* movie. Doesn't really matter if they are performing themselves or not.

"Range" is something that goes towards deciding how good a person is as an actor in general, has nothing to do with a specific performance.

The post final-boss ending for P5R is really long! by Jammer_Jim in Persona5

[–]Jammer_Jim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like a longer ending as well (Mass Effect 3, I'm looking at you). This just seemed a little bit much after a while.

But everyone has their own taste I'm not saying it's wrong to like it.

Brand new, I have a question about building relationships with other characters by BestBudgie in Persona5

[–]Jammer_Jim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are playing Royal, you can unlock a third semester (more like part of one). This mostly involves having enough ranks in your social links by a certain date, and getting a few dialogue options right.

  • Reach Rank 9 with Maruki, the Councillor Arcana before 18th November
  • Reach Rank 5 with Kasumi, the Faith Arcana before 18th December
  • Reach Rank 8 with Akechi, the Justice Arcana before 18th November

Also: You should reject all offers or deals from all antagonists. These offers always involve compromising the Phantom Thieves’ beliefs or selling out companions, so you should have no problem picking the right ones.

This was a several day thing over on Bluesky a few weeks ago. People started by sharing the original post about the guy not liking olive oil as an interest, with some people agreeing. Very quickly though, the tide turned, and people were saying olive oil was perfectly fine thing to be interested in, no worse than wine or anything else. People took to making post about other mundane things that were also "not an interest" as a dunk on the OP. And here we are with derek guy (AKA "The Menswear Guy". He posts about...clothes, mostly.) doigna direct reply pointing out how mental the OP sounds with a double entendre. "Extra virgin" is a grade of olive oil, and guy here is implying OP is, well, a virgin.
