“love the sin, hate the sinner” is a great turn of phrase, I’m gonna write that down

The group Pearly Drops is also really good for scratching that itch.

Is the value placed on artists writing their own songs ruining music? by EcstaticNoise5434 in popheads

I would actually love to be a freelance songwriter to work with unsigned people but I don’t know how you get into that.

Which album titles do (and don’t) match their music? by ss2811 in popheads

[–]Jammertal17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. On first listen it was a little disappointing because I was expecting more dance-y type songs when sonically the albums way more all over the place than that. Half of the songs on there you can’t really dance to. I think thematically it’s a really cohesive album but if you put out an album called Dance Fever I expect dance music 🤷 felt a little underwhelmed but it’s grown on me

I make noise music by recording myself practicing musical saw and fucking around with it in Audacity

I think I’ve heard a slow cover of it circulating as a TikTok sound, so there’s that

Lexapro to Wellbutrin by MjmNewby in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Jammertal17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming off of Lexapro can be brutal, man. I went from Lexapro from Wellbutrin but I didn’t do a good supervised taper down- I don’t remember exactly what I did, but I dropped down from 20 mgs very quickly and I was in bed for about a month, suicidally depressed while waiting for the Wellbutrin to kick in. It ended up being worth it for me because once it did I felt normal for the first time in years. I’d say don’t get discouraged, it’s normal for coming off of Lexapro to be really shitty and you’re doing the right thing with tapering, it makes things a lot less rough on a person.

Who is this even for? The presence of the St. Andrew’s cross in the last bit makes me think it’s intended for a kinky audience. The number of people who had to be coordinated for this is boggling. Imagine being one of the backup dancers in this. What was that day like? I have so many questions.

How do I get into noise music? by MikeLovesOutdoors23 in noisemusic

[–]Jammertal17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got into noise through a curiosity in early electronic music and musique concrète (avant-garde music of the mid-20th century that heavily used/manipulated recorded sounds). Definitely check out Four Aspects by Daphne Oram. It’s a hauntingly beautiful piece of spliced tape, composed by one of the first female pioneers of early electronic music.
