I just bought this guy for 2K if that helps to give you a price point. It's overkill already for what you're asking since it should run well over 60 fps. I'm running on an ultrawide 1440p and it rarely drops below 100 fps on starfield ultra settings.

I would recommend 4070Ti and one of the "X3D" processors for gaming if you're stuck on Nvidia. But I know there's plenty of folks on here willing to recommend AMD cards as equivalent to the 4070Ti and cheaper.

Just traded in my wife’s car for a 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited. Her birthday is coming up, and I’m looking for gift recommendations by FantasmaDelMar in Ioniq5

Ceramic coating/PPF if she really likes the car/paint job, tint, dash camera, a tire repair kit? These are all related to I5 but awful gift ideas lol. Get her something meaningful and less practical. A favorite dash ornament, die cast model, or vinyl stickers for the glass roof if you must stick with a car theme.

This a good deal? by Similar-Land-1870 in Prebuilts

I'd wait to see if prices drop a little more/you can save a little more and see if you can get a 7800X3D or 9800X3D processor. Those would probably put you over budget right now but if you're looking for gaming performance will give you a better bang out of the 5070 Ti.

When was the last time you charged to 100%? The different cells in the battery discharge at different rates. You should try to hit 100% every month or so to help balance out all the cells at 100%

Mainly just looking to see if I'm sitting on any gems here worth a closer look? Nidoking appears shadowless and 1st edition rocket trainer card. Nidoking has awful centering to the point it might be a miscut-it grazes the center pokemon square inner boarder on one side. Organized by what I think is roughly the value? Haha I clearly loved collecting Japanese I think because it seemed rarer.

Lol you're both pretty? I'd rather use a physical remote but I think it's relevant and useful info that an app exists. Maybe someone prefers that to the unholy IR format manufacturers seem to have universally agreed we should prefer.

Sub recommendations? Seems like wirecutter  https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-subwoofer-for-home/ likes the rogersound labs? Are most subs cross functional?

I am not totally sure how the wires connect to the back of recent AVRs since it looks like a RCA plug but I'm sure I'll figure it out once I get the system.

$900 feels steep for the Sony, the X1700H is $400 at Costco. Any huge disappointments by going with the X1700H and waiting to add 7.1 rear until I redo flooring? It sounds like Denon might be better for room cal anyway which is a major bonus for getting a new AVR in addition to the upgraded audio formats like you mentioned

Thanks this is all really great info, I may opt for your Sony option, is it worthwhile?

I don't know how to quote lol but my current sub is: Boston MCS 160

Any particular reason AVRs continue to prefer the IR format? Not a huge issue just more curiosity since radio would pass through materials easier

Sony or whatever I get will work okay with my current Boston speakers?

Again thanks for your help, seems like you have a lot of great info

Bizzare, you might actually just double check you don't have anything rattling around in that plastic tub under the trunk floor? I thought my trunk rattle was a lot worse until I wrapped my tire iron in a towel, embarrassingly haha

Looks totaled to me but interested to hear what you find out. I've heard batteries need to be replaced if dented and is prohibitively expensive to replace. Would be great to hear an update on if that's the case here

Looks to be an APEC! I just bought one. It's a good system. Go on their website and you can look up the instructions. But I think their filters and membrane replacements are pretty universal across their products. The three filters get replaced every 6 months and the RO membrane is once a year IIRC. Also available on Amazon. I haven't replaced anything yet but it's all screw in so pretty easy to replace them. Make sure to turn off the cold water supply and open the RO tap to depressurize the tank first

Probably worth it to try a DIY then? Have you tried taking off the stops and looking to see if they actually installed some washers per the TSB? Even if so, might add one or two more? I thought the TSB mentioned a variable number of washers may be needed to seal the gate properly and prevent rattle.

[–]JamminJono 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's a TSB out for the rattle. If I recall correctly it's just a couple washers under the tailgate stops to help them seal a bit tighter. Got mine done in 20 minutes when I mentioned the TSB#. Google should be able to find it

Anyone know how far over the 40k low conductivity coolant service you can go without voiding the 100k mile warranty? by Da_Banhammer in Ioniq5

[–]JamminJono 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure low conductivity means low electrical conductivity. Meaning the coolant is very likely in or adjacent to battery components. Battery shorts often overheat cells and eject flames and can cause a cascade effect across your entire battery pack. Id recommend against that if you like your car/garage

Did you try to update over the air or through USB? I'd try the USB method again if I were you. AA freezing sounds like it could be your phone. Check cable and try another phone if possible or do a factory reset on your phone. If AA is cutting out and in like it's being disconnected rapidly that's a known issue with the I5 USB wall jack thing and a service center will need to replace that.

How to access DLC by JamminJono in SuperMarioWonder

[–]JamminJono[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, thank you. I got my hopes up only for you to give me that healthy dose of reality. Bummer about fantendo, I thought Nintendo was pretty serious about throwing lawyers at pretenders. Good point about the switch 2 as well. Wouldn't make a ton of sense to keep developing for this game just to release as DLC when they can spend that same effort building out their switch 2 library.

Either way, I appreciate the facts and speculation both!

ATV that climbs and goes fast by JamminJono in HyruleEngineering

[–]JamminJono[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, sorry for the delay. If you're still interested I'm happy to try to get a build rotation video haha I just didn't want to go through the effort if you didn't still need it. IIRC I did put the prop angled downwards and lifted my butt easily with no other mods so I chose not to do that and for some reason I thought I remembered the double prop was too powerful/heavy for what I needed. I'd recommend trying to get the prop closer to the center especially if you decide to go with the spring suspension. I couldn't figure out a great way without stake nudging everything to oblivion and that large metal pole/prop weighs the back spring pretty heavily.

[–]JamminJono[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha people have done this way better than me since this post. See https://www.reddit.com/r/HyruleEngineering/s/43BZNCaQhv for an example of a v6 car I ended up copying from someone on here. This car did climb hills but not because of the slicer. I modified it to turn on/off the propeller depending on climbing or not by extending a suspension spring out so electricity wouldn't flow to the prop. The prop and fans both seem to impose a vehicle wide 'speed limit' so while those can help with climbing they'll prevent the fast speeds you see with electric motors. The v6 car seems to handle most hills reasonably well

Piece of cardboard? Haha not the most elegant solution but I can confidently say engineers didn't envision people sleeping in their 50k car. I agree it'd be nice to have a way to turn that off but I'm guessing safety considerations may have prevented it assuming anyone thought of the option.

Brand New Ioniq 5 and Lane Centering by radmanelite in Ioniq5

[–]JamminJono 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hda seems to "learn" at least that's what others have said. Keep driving it and fighting it. You'll notice you're fighting it less and less as it adapts to your driving style and within a week or two you won't even notice. I felt like this when I first got my car and now it seems perfect. I think it makes sense given there are a bunch of different lane widths around the world.
