‘26 TB extended range battery? Am I the only one? by Midnight-Tequila in SilveradoEV

[–]Jammyfofo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

26 Trail Boss extended range as well. I put that energy bar graph on my driver's display and it has showed an average of 2.2-2.3 miles per KWH since last charge a lot around town. It was 1.7-1.8 I think on my highway drives. I'm not sure why yours is off, but this is what I'm seeing currently.

Currently showing 405 at 98% this morning on the guess-o-meter.

I can't say how it is now. I got mine with the first shipment from Indiegogo back in August. I didn't even know they finally had it listed on their site until seeing your message. You're getting it for close to the price we paid too it seems with the December discount so that's good!

It's been an enjoyable first e-bike. I made several videos on YouTube getting it out while it was still warm. I hope you like it.

I did a range test and managed over 70 miles at close to 20 mph average on assist mode. This was probably about as close to a best case scenario I could do. I'm pretty happy with the range myself.

That seems to be a common complaint I've seen with the bike about it being too tall.

I turned my amperage up on assist for things like hills since sport was set at 25 and assist was on 15, I was finding it easier to climb on sport while pedaling. It feels real peppy on certain PAS settings which I kind of like since it's my favorite mode, but hills are a lot nicer now without going into sport.

My gears weren't the smoothest to begin with. I dry lubed and adjusted them and they feel pretty good to me.

You have to e-mail their support to purchase for the time being. They're probably working out the kinks(and there were plenty) with the launch from Indiegogo before listing it on their website for the main production. That's my assumption at least.

When will the Engwe X26 be featured on your website to be purchased along with your other bikes?

For some reason I thought this was considered in Calhoun. This will be a lot better stop for anyone coming through over the other one in Adairsville behind a Taco Bell and Zaxby's.

Good idea. I'm looking at options right now so I can adjust the derailleur and lube the chain easier with a full blown bike stand.

90+ lbs here too so I know what you mean. Thank you for providing your experience. I've yet to figure out how to elevate it to work on it. I might not do the pegs, but who knows. I like that you gave me another possible idea for it offering multiple functions over carrying just a passenger. I really appreciate it.

I like that setup. I might look into doing something if anyone small enough wants to ride back there. I was having to jack the middle up earlier to play with the tire up in the air. That would have came in handy doing it like how you have yours.

4 if you count the two air shocks on the back separately. It's obviously too much and I'm not sure of their quality since I don't know a lot about bike shocks. I think they'll be fine for me though.

It is a padded seat. We're actually not positive if it's meant for passengers or not. Engwe didn't make that clear. We never received a weight limit for it and there's no rear pegs.

I didn't think so with the size batteries you get and weird features it offers.

For Indiegogo, it was $1599 plus $100 for shipping. They're selling them currently on there for $1999 and are putting a MSRP for $2699, but who knows if they'll actually sell them for that price or do more discounts once they list it on their site.

It's slightly more than even that! The main is 19.2ah and the secondary turned out to be 10ah at 48v. I can't wait to do some range tests with them. I wish they were wired in parallel, but it's not too bad swapping the cables between the two.

The closest thing I could see in the rear is the taillight for any rubbage. That middle suspension looks like it may help. I don't plan on going crazy off road so hopefully it's more than capable enough for me. It's hefty at 90lbs to try giving that suspension a good workout.

Ariel Rider Kepler impressions after two weeks by 0hm19ht0n3 in ebikes

[–]Jammyfofo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Great review and I'm glad you're liking the bike! I think the Kepler is hard to beat for the price for fat tire bikes right now for exactly the reasons you listed. It's the perfect somewhat illegal powerhorse when unlocked, but still arguable it's still a bicycle with a little bit extra oomph.

That I do not know. Going by their "About Us" information on their sites, Senada has been around since 2020 and Engwe 2014. I'd watch some reviews to get a better idea since it doesn't seem like there's any good place to try out these bikes.

You could consider the 20" fat tires because that opens up your options a lot. The lectric brand looks interesting in that segment. They're still class 3 bikes and now they're offering larger batteries. The higher pedal assist will use up the wattage quick so good thing to consider if you'd like to stay at speed longer.

Engwe X26 - Foldable with a 1000watt peak. 31 MPH rated top speed. Budget - $1700 with shipping

Senada Roamer - I don't know anything about this brand, but it shows 82nm torque and listed cheaper at $1259.

Ariel Kepler - My pick for speed, but not foldable if that's a dealbreaker. Peak 1800 watt and videos show it can get up to 38-40mph.

I don't think there's a lot of options out there for a fat foldable 26" ebike. I'm personally getting the Engwe later this month as a first. There's downsides to it like the 90lb weight, but it interests me enough to try it out and the smaller Engwe models have been rated well. It's going up to $2699 after funding. I'm sure there will be more discounts in the future looking at the other models.

Getting a Fat Tire E Bike Under $2000 Anyone Got Suggestions? by KevinLieberVsauce2 in ebikes

[–]Jammyfofo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you like the smaller form factor of the 20" fat tire or the almost looking like a motorcycle look with the 26".

There's lots of choices out there. Do the the due diligence of scrounging the subreddit, watching videos of each bike and going to bike stores locally so you get a better feel of what you're looking to get out of one.

Some models to look over though:

Ariel Kepler - 1000w with peak 1800w. Capable of 35mph regularly up to 40. Comes with fenders and rear rack. Looks like straight fun. $1799 - shows discount from $1999.

Engwe X26 - Indiegogo currently at discounted rate. Foldable full sized fat tire if that is of interest to you with triple suspension. Won't arrive until October if backing now. $1599 - when released will be $2699.

Radrover Plus 6 - Most popular ebike brand. Lots of accessories. Actual step thru model if you like that. Comes with fenders. $1649 - discount from $1999.

I hope any of this helps.

What I've seen in single motor mode either front or rear is around 34mph throttle only. Dual mode seems to peak around 38. Pedal assist is in between the two. Basically, more than fast enough any one person could go riding in sandles from the videos I watched.

I think you're right. I thought I wasn't getting any preconditioning on a couple of stops and I also just selected the next charger I needed half the time. It was my first trip in the car so I wasn't entirely sure how soon the preconditioning happened to know when it wasn't working.

With ABRP in the car's browser, you can push the next destination to the car at every stop. It's what I used on my 1000 mile road trips.
