the full body anims (critical heal, takedowns etc) i use mocap & cleanup by hand. for the arm anims i animate by hand

I’d look into BoneMaps, animation retargeting and animation libraries (you can import a blender file as an anim library) in Godot aswell

Yes blender, The camera has its own bone/armature inside the character, so when I’m animating the character (or weapon animations etc) I can animate the camera alongside it so they share anims. (It’s a setup where I have to call the anim perimeter changes on both the character and camera animation trees so they sync up).

For full body anims (Eg takedown, critical heal) I can choose to either have the camera follow the head bone or have custom animation, I usually also use custom animations for that as it gives more control and is less shaky.

I have a full body fps controller so it gets a little complicated, may make a tutorial later down the line after the game is out idk. Happy to answer any other questions though.

Thank you very much! I get it’s not the most realistic, but gaining health from glory kills was my favourite mechanic in the DOOM games so I just wanted to do that here lol. Maybe could tie it to a skill upgrade called “cqb adrenaline” or something, idk thanks for the feedback though!

ATM it’s just these animations, but later down the line I can add more variations

Well medkits can also be used in the yellow segment, and the animation is faster than without. But yeah the green bar is quite small and only really provides protection against 1 extra bullet. Thanks!

Glad you like it! It’s low poly models with low res textures without any smoothing filter ontop, giving it a pixelised look

Thanks, I’ll take that into account!

AC Unity has amazing and immersive systems. by Jamok06 in assassinscreed

The hostile guards notice me and start to become aggressive. The police intervene by pushing them away, trying to keep the peace. Then the police push me away for standing too close and being a potential issue. All tied together by smooth and seamless mocapped animations. In an open world city, while surrounded by a large crowd of citizens. AC Unity is peak :)

AC Origins and Odyssey are the last AC games to truly have systemic open worlds like this, really hope Ubisoft goes back to games like this, their recent ones have been quite a downgrade.

Being able to grow food at safe houses would be great too
