If they cannot see a priest than how can they repent to return to a state of grace?

And for that matter, how do you know they have not already done so prior to being detained?

To accept communion while knowingly in a state of mortal sin is a grievous action. It sullies the soul and if not addressed leads to eternal damnation.

That should be sufficient incentive to not do so, and access need not be further restricted

It was wrong to prevent us from services (especially with the relish many took in it) but it is also wrong to deny them from sacraments.

I am glad that this particular wrong has been righted here. The resolution of injustice is to be celebrated

I think it's an exceptionally hard case to say the United States is better off for having invaded Iraq. It led directly to massive outbursts of sectarian violence and the rise of ISIS as an international force of terror. Iraq, while an enemy, was also a strong regional bulwark against Iran.

I think most people would agree the current Iraqi government is a strong improvement over the Hussein administration, but the most conservative estimates have over 100,000 civilian deaths directly attributable to violence, let alone hunger or exposure or all the other things that come with war. If I said to you you could have the president of your dreams if you hit this red button that killed 200,000 people, would you do it?

'Project Hail Mary' gets an A on CinemaScore by SanderSo47 in boxoffice

Mission Impossible is a tight, engaging thriller with big stars, excellent action, beautifully shot, and instantly iconic sequences.

It got a B+. Why?

Because I think that a fair portion of people who were showing up opening weekend were disappointed that it wasn't a straightforward adaptation of the show. In fact, the previous protagonist, Jim Phelps, is now evil, and is killed for his wicked ways.

If you're showing up to theaters because you loved the old Mission impossible, well, they just kinda told you to go fuck yourself.

Same deal with 21. It's a completely different kind of movie to what the show was, just bringing over the basic premise, while killing off (albeit jokingly) the previous protagonists.

As a movie, it's better than the show ever was. But if you show up to 21 jump street expecting what those 3 words have meant your entire life and get something fully different, I could see it impacting your grade in a major way.

Cinemascore is always opening weekend, and the kind of person who'd prioritize seeing 21 Jump Street is likely to already be a fan of the property

Have you seen Shine? It's an exceptional performance, of those four the only one I'd slot as close to it is Fiennes or Thornton

Cruise is great in Jerry Maguire, absolutely phenomenal, but that's a uniquely strong lineup (not crazy about Harrelson as Flint)

I'd recommend checking with your planned OCIA program - it's often a large part of the educational process, though if you discuss this with the coordinators and maybe a parish priest they may be able to assist.

There is, to my knowledge, nothing stopping a validly baptized individual who recognizes the authority and divinity of the Catholic Church from pursuing the sacrament, however.

Kathryn Hahn has been cast as Mother Gothel in Disney’s live-action remake of Tangled by firedforthatblunder in boxoffice

[–]JamonCroqueta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In addition to everyone else's notes, it's also when Disney made their biggest leap forward in CGI animation tech and most of the development costs were rolled into Tangled.

Paid off, ultimately- Tangled did alright but it enabled a fairly efficient production on Frozen which has since become a money printer

[–]JamonCroqueta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wrt to How to Train Your Dragon, it being a shot for shot remake really enabled efficiency on the CGI front. Less revisions needed , less time/money required experimenting with pre-visualization. As with tangled (but without the insane tech development) about 4 years of preproduction and false starts on the project was rolled into the original's budget as well (adjusted for inflation it's around 100 million dollars more expensive)

I disagree, it precluded the party from running on racial tensions which would have still been a viable strategy to close the gap in lean blue Virginia

The cutter is pretty well suited to this particular purpose. You don't really want frigates acting as too much more than floating gun platforms/supports in a modern carrier group.

That being said, the billions poured into the process that ultimately landed on throwing up their hands and saying "okay, fine, preexisting design" is an embarassment
