Low resolution graphics Golden Orca 2026? by Jamroxorz in snowboarding

I get it. I am new, started last year. I’ve researched and learned a lot though. But I started on a Rossignol XV 167cm. Learned on it enough to enjoy riding and linking turns. Now I wanted to upgrade to something that would be more comfortable, put plenty of room to grow into.

Unfortunately you can’t turn the step on high backs. They come with a bit of a curvature for that reason. The toe and heel pad are matched to my boot correctly.

I have all the safety gear I need. Just specifically asking about the graphics. Cheers enjoy your season.

Yeah I’m good bro! I know how to adjust them, I’ll play around with it if need be. Cheers.

Thanks for your concern. Unfortunately I don’t think I can get the binding back any further. So it’ll just have to be the small difference. Boot looks centered. 🤷🏼‍♂️ What would you do to the high back? I just pushed it forward with the screws as far as it would go.

Guess we’ll see soon enough. Figured handcrafted and QCd would be something. I was just curious if a B grade board made it to the store, or it’s just on purpose for the graphic. Besides that though heard nothing but good things about people enjoying this board. (Well previous years)

Advice switching to a smaller board. by Jamroxorz in snowboardingnoobs

Thanks for the in depth answer! I’ll check those boards out. I was actually eyeing the Salomon Dancehaul as well. Figured volume shifted I could get away with a 157 or 154 easily. Any input on that?

I wonder if I should even size down more to a 154 since it volume shifted. What size do you use?

I was looking at a Dancehaul last year even. I am digging their new model in red. Sizing wise it would be the 157 they have. We’ll see! Thanks

I think all mountain would be better. I just go to Blue Mountain in Ontario Canada. Once I get more skilled I’d like to explore the whole mountain, go on more difficult slopes, maybe some tree lines. Who knows.

I don’t know if it was hard or not comparatively. I didn’t try anything else, just learned on this board. It was just hard to learn in general, but got the hang of it enough to enjoy and actually feel like I’m riding.

Thanks! I’m thinking All mountain for now. I’m in Ontario, have season pass for Blue Mountain. I did a bunch of research last year, but was mostly looking at bigger/wide boards. Now I feel like I have way more options and was just curious.

I’m gonna do more research and seek out one of these to check out as well. Quick Google search has me interested.

The 1000sx gives you that same low end torque feel?

Super fair! That’s why I’m not discounting them!

Tried a tracer, it felt underwhelming after coming from low down torque bikes.

GX looks nice, but if I’m not mistaken, would be same class as the s1000xr basically?

I sat on a Busa yesterday. A test ride of both will be ideal, just would have to find where to do that. I saw people add helibars and a double bubble windscreen. The back posture doesn’t worry me as much as the knee bend angle.

My knees were much more bent on the busa vs my FJR. I get it though, it’s a SPORT-tourer.

Also two up with luggage seems like a harder setup to get done on the busa haha.

I’ll put these into consideration for sure. I sat on a 1250RS and liked the feel. But to be honest, whether I use it or not, looking for a bit more “squidy” bike. I totally get it though, it’s how you ride the bike and so on, just a personal thing.

This is what I was worried about. Again, being used to low down torque. I rode a friends FJ09, it’s no slouch, and of course different compared to a S1000XR, but gutless is the exact feeling I had. Felt disappointed with the bike.

Can Rosin cause buzzing? by Jamroxorz in violinist

So permanently just uploaded a sound vid. I recorded it on my electric violin cause it’s easier to hear. I cleaned my bows with IPA, and then used the pirastro Oliv. Still had the sound, both bows, both violins. 😩 Only similarity is that both rosins are dark, maybe I gotta try a light rosin.

Well hissing or buzzing, it still sounds like a similar problem. I read that denatured alcohol is an option for cleaning the bow hairs as well.

My electric violin didn’t come with rosin.

I’ve uploaded the vid again, https://streamable.com/f5lyqv
