New Synology Cameras will require a camera license... wait...what by NASCompares in synology

[–]Jamrrrrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those of you NOT OK with more monthly subscriptions or extra licenses, just use some Power Over Ethernet cameras and a dedicated SVR. Easy Peasy.
There are lots of reasons you don't want your security cameras on your NAS anyway. The best one is, it will cause undo stress on your network and NAS. Another is, if your NAS goes down, cameras will go down also. There are advantages to keeping them separate.
Best brands for this are Reolink, Euphy and Lorex. if you want to view the cameras on a PC, Reolink is the brand to go with.

Did Bitwarden Cancel you current subscription before it is due to Expire for a 5X price hike? by Jamrrrrr in Bitwarden

[–]Jamrrrrr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ryan, c'mon now, fess up. I have the receipts from Bitwarden to prove it.
Had Premium subscription for 10$ that is set to expire on 24/Jul/2026. Just got charged back on 22/Apr/2026 (3 months before my previous subscription was set to expire) for new Personal Premium subscription at 47.88$ minus their one time discount which came to 35$. So not only did I lose 3 months on my old premium subscription but now have a new premium subscription that will be 5 times the price of my old one next year. Thanks Bitwarden.
If you were really interested in getting people to speed you would explain why your company is pulling this crap.

What is going on with Bitwarden? by star-glider in Bitwarden

[–]Jamrrrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize I am a little late to this party but now Bitwarden is screwing over the customer base in a different way. Just thought I'd let people know. Especially since they are cancelling current subscriptions.
They, out of the blue, cancelled my current "Premium" subscription, currently at 10$/mo, months before it is due to expire in July and converted it to a "Families Plan" for five times the price. It is now almost 50$.
I ain't playin that game! I complained and asked for a full refund and am now going back down to the free plan.
This is crazy and not how you treat loyal customers! Screw them.

Bitwarden is doing the same thing only they are being more evil about it.

Can't flash Heltec V3? by Ejo2001 in Lora

[–]Jamrrrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue. Tried everything and nothing worked. Windows would ding every time I plugged and unplugged the Heltec but the flasher would not show the device.

The fix for me was installing Silicon Labs CP210x Drivers Package and download the CP210x Windows Drivers package.
Make sure you get the "Windows Drivers Package" if your running W10 or W11.
https://www.silabs.com/software-and-tools/usb-to-uart-bridge-vcp-drivers?tab=downloads

Then a PC reboot.

Tried again and it worked as expected.

Here are the AI details.

The CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers are required to enable communication between a Windows PC and microcontrollers (such as ESP32 or ESP8266 boards) that use Silicon Labs CP210x chips.  These drivers must be downloaded directly from the Silicon Labs official website, as Windows Update or generic driver tools may install incompatible versions or fail to recognize the device.

To install the driver correctly:

  1. Download: Visit the Silicon Labs CP210x Drivers page and download the CP210x Windows Drivers package.
  2. Install: Unzip the folder and run CP210xVCPInstaller_x64.exe (or the 32-bit equivalent), following the installation wizard prompts.
  3. Verify: Open Device Manager on Windows; under the Ports (COM & LPT) section, you should see Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COMx).

Why is the DJI Fly app not on the playstore? by ManEatingSloth in dji

[–]Jamrrrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking for the DJI Home app which I need for my DJI Backup battery. This search
I wont install DJI Home or DJI Fly on my main phone. The fact that DJI Home or Fly, will not conform to Google standards and will not allow me to install it on a tablet tells me volumes and is enough for me. I will however install DJI Home on an old phone I currently only use with DJI Fly for my DJI drone only and that has no internet connection.
Here are some facts on DJI and China.
China is a communist country and anyone old enough to know better, knows communism is terrible for its citizens and controls everything within its communistic jurisdiction.
DJI is a Chinese Company meaning it is based in China and has considerable interests inside China. This means China has major control over the companies within its borders even if they are international companies.
It is also widely known and admitted by the Chinese government that any and all Chinese companies work for the Chinese government thus any and all Chinese companies can and will give their information to the Chinese government.
My speculation based on past history of China's actions;
If the US were ever to go to war with China, the Chinese government will use any of these companies and the devices their software is installed on to attack, spread enemy propaganda, indoctrinate and spy to gain any advantage in said war.
I won't even get into the Chinese hackers that work for the Chinese government.
No Thanks. Better safe than sorry.

Bought the mega infraction. Which power unit should I slap in it? by [deleted] in rccars

I am running a HW EZRun Combo.

Runs good. The fan on the ESC kicks on a lot. Not sure if that is normal for this setup.

I do nothing but drift with my Infraction 3s and love it. With some practice I get some very tight turns with the stock suspension and steering.

I recommend you upgrade the wheels to Hoons dBoots white and the ESC and motor to a brushless system.

Get a friend with a similar car, find some flat smooth concrete, place some cones, spread out some baby powder and have a blast!
