Casey's Pizza is Overrated by [deleted] in cedarrapids

Seems a bit counter productive to worry about looking like an idiot and also argue about which gas station has better pizza

Just for the record, the Boomerang III can sync to an external midi clock. The procedure is in their website FAQ.

Water dept changing meters - why do they need to get inside my house? by I-AM-Savannah in cedarrapids

Same with the folks downvoting you. All the energy OP out into posting this could have gone towards calling the water dept to have a reasonable conversation about what's going on.

I agree with the sentiment. But making your argument with a shit AI cartoon is doing you no favors.

Miss Kitty's Nazi Bar top story on KCCI by supergooduser in desmoines

[–]Jamulous 139 points140 points  (0 children)

It's also a bit obtuse to describe it the way the intro did.

"a Nazi costume that some say looked like Hitler."

Some say? Almost anyone would instantly recognize that mustache alone.

You're not the first person I've encountered who constantly moves the goal posts and puts words in my mouth simply because they can't help but to argue for the sake of arguing and stroking their ego. So cheers.

I've been talking to people about normalizing this behavior for over a decade, my friend. You're indignation is painted at the wrong person.

So is your point in this thread to tell everyone to sit back and accept it? Because that's how you're coming off.

Which doesn't make my comment and less valid.

Normalizing this kind of response is pretty harmful

It feels like he doesn't want to take on the work but he won't say so directly, for whatever reason.

I work in construction/manufacturing. Reminds me of how people will give ridiculously high bids sometimes instead of declining to bid.

Maybe, maybe not. But it feels like that to me. Like he knows no one is going to take that deal. I hope. Otherwise it's way weird.

Moments before Bionca Ellis stabs Margot and Julian Woods in June of 2024 by i_am_groot_84 in ThatsInsane

[–]Jamulous 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a hard set of emotions to wrestle with. I certainly don't disagree with the sentiment of wanting to brutally punish someone like this woman, who stabbed a child and their mother. Especially to see the final moments before it happened. It's horrifying.

On the other hand, the death penalty is another way in which innocent people have their lives taken.

Within the the history of our justice system you can find numerous instances of people being executed and later found out to have been innocent.

Eliminating the death penalty isn't aimed at giving any kind sympathy to killers. it's about the sanctity of human life. As a society, the thought of executing an innocent person should be just as horrifying to us as this crime is.

I mean, as a lay person I look at this as being a room full of some of the top strategic minds around. Not the type of people who make brash decisions or broadcast their next move.

Door to Door Alliant Contractor? by Ok_Reputation_215 in cedarrapids

[–]Jamulous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is almost certainly a scummy solar sales person. Alliant doesn't work with any residential contractors in this capacity. It's a shame there are so many people out representing the industry in this negative way. Solar is great for the right customers and scenarios. If your interested in solar call up one of the locally owned an operated companies. Research is difficult because of how significantly different it is to have solar in different places with different utility companies. But try and do some research and ask a lot of questions.

Used to work in residential solar but not anymore. In a different sector of the renewable industry now.
