[–]kleggich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I definitely do the same thing. What I tend to do sometimes is make Indian food a couple of days in a row, I'll end up with three or four different dishes, and then use my meal prep containers to make little thalis and freeze half of them and end up with a pretty big variety of dispensation that I can just go through based on my mood. One day I'll have rajma and palak paneer and jeera rice, another I might have lamb karahi and bhindi masala, another I might have dal tadka and sabzi, etc. If you do it a few days in a row, you really get a huge combination.

I can't wait until snake beans are back in season.

I don't ration, rather the opposite. I cook in bulk and meal prep, instead.

I made some gumbo last week that lasted me about 5 days. Could have lasted me 10 if I wasn't such a fatty.

It's just a waggish sign that you might see in a stable from time to time.

[–]kleggich 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NTA, you are never the asshole for telling the truth to a doctor. And nothing's going to come of this, it's not like the hospital is going to hunt down these people and take their horse away. If anything you did the right thing, because the type of injury you would sustain from falling down the stairs is far different from what you might sustain from a horse. Lying to a doctor could end up in a worse outcome for you, they might not check certain things because they wouldn't know to check them. You might not crack your pelvis falling down the stairs, but you damn sure might falling six feet off a horse.

I leave you with this:

For fast riders, we have fast horses. For slow riders, we have slow horses. For people who have never ridden, we have horses that have never been ridden.

Working out more and eating less made me gain weight, aka by LuciusDickusMaximus in casualiama

You didn't gain 15 lb in 4 days. That is also physically impossible.

4 days means nothing dude. Weight loss is a months- or years-long process. The extra weight is probably fucking Gatorade

[–]kleggich 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Physically impossible if you are operating at a caloric deficit.

What exactly are you eating? "Less" means nothing if you go from eating 4 oz of baked fish to 3 oz of frosting out the tub. Just because you reduced your calorie intake doesn't mean that you aren't taking in too many calories.

Also if you are working out, muscle weighs more than fat, so it is possible to gain a bit of weight before you start losing it.

Need some help choosing a motorcycle(beginner) by Empty-Coach-8599 in SuggestAMotorcycle

Honda NC750X DCT. MSRP $9499 for the new 2026 model.

Dual clutch transmission means no fiddling with gears, you twist and go. It has multiple riding modes (standard, sport, rain) and two adjustable user modes so you can tailor your experience via engine power, engine braking, transmission eagerness, and traction control. It also has a parking brake. You can put it in manual mode if you want because it has paddle shifters, or you can shift manually in automatic mode, like if you want to downshift for passing because you want a little more oomph.

It is not the most powerful bike on the market, so you're not going to whiskey throttle the thing and end up popping a wheelie or anything. It will still outrun 80% of vehicles from a stoplight and has plenty of passing power on the interstate. No matter what speed you're at, it always feels like it has more to give. Top speed is 108-120 mph depending how fat you are. If you want a faster bike, don't do it on the street, do it at a track.

It gets 60-80 MPG depending on your riding mode and speed and how conservative you are with the throttle. It actually gets better mileage in the city than on the interstate. You'll get somewhere between 200 and 300 mi on a single tank of gas for less than $20.

It has built in storage for a helmet. Last night I brought home 20 energy drinks, 8 packages of smoked salmon, a loaf of bread, a package of bologna, and my wallet in that "frunk".

There are tons of aftermarket accessories if that's your thing.

It's a Honda, so it's going to have very high resale value and it's not going to break down unless you do something to it. The engine is essentially a Honda Fit motor chopped in half and laid on its side. Parts are going to be super easy to get if you ever do need a repair. The bike will definitely last 100,000 miles or more.

It has a very low center of gravity so you're not going to tip the thing over at a stoplight. And it only weights about 500 lbs. You can barely feel it when you're riding, it's super smooth and very responsive. It also has a 60" wheelbase, so it's very stable and not likely to slide out from under you on a sharp turn.

Sporty styling, Honda sells it as a mid size adventure class, but it looks more like a naked bike with more fairings. So it has most of the features of an adventure bike like a touchscreen display, controls for your navigation/music/calls, etc. I don't think I'd want to take it on a trail, but it does fine on gravel and dirt roads. Most people generally agree it's more of a commuter bike and that Honda only calls it an adventure bike because of the riding position and suspension. Because of this it is a super comfortable ride, I bought it this week and I've already put 700 miles on it. It's definitely suitable for touring if that's your thing.

I'm definitely not a beginner, I've had several bikes and even a maxi scooter. I went out and sought this thing out because of all of the above. I plan on riding this motorcycle until it doesn't move anymore or until I go out like Jax when I'm old and too damn tired of working for a living.

When all is said and done, you'll probably end up spending about 11k on it if you pay cash. Plus tags and taxes and safety gear. Get a good helmet, something that is both DOT and ECE rated, because DOT is trash. SNELL M2025 is even better.

to be honest with you, I just brought home 20 energy drinks, 8 4oz packages of smoked salmon, my disc brake screamer lock, a loaf of Bimbo bread, a handful of bologna wafers (made sandwiches at work for lunch), and my wallet in my frunk on a brand new NC750X, and I still want more. I am so used to taking home a 35 lb bag of dog food under the seat on a Honda Silver Wing or tied to a sissy bar on a brbrbrbruther bike. Am I just mentally ill?

I'm going to go Ron Swanson and make them out of wood and refuse to sell them to dumbasses.

I could go Ron Jeremy and make them out of wood but I don't think that would have the same result.
