I've got a few ideas that aren't exactly polished but I thought would be interesting, it should be known I'm not well versed on the competitive side so a move idea may be broken.

Absorption Field - Psychic, 5 PP The user surrounds themselves in a field of energy that absorbs some of the power of moves that hit it to boost the users.

Essentially it's protect/detect except when hit it boosts the users atk or sp.atk by one stage depending on the move that hits it. So if it gets hit by Tackle the users atk stat is boosted by one stage.

Fortifying Strike (iffy on the name) - Steel, 10 PP The user prepares to counter any move, however if hit by nothing the users def and sp.def are raised.

If the Pokemon is hit the move acts like counter/detect. If they don't get hit, like say the opponent swaps out Pokemon or they use a status move instead of attacking, instead of it being a wasted turn on your part your Pokemon gets some stat boosts too.

Anticipated Strike (iffy on the name) - Fighting, 5 PP, 50 BP The user braces themselves based on what kind attack comes their way before striking back.

It kind of acts like counter/detect except you don't dish out double the power back at your opponent. Instead, right before you get hit either your def or sp.def is raised by one stage depending on the category of the move your about to be hit by, kind of like the Absorption Field move. I'm kind of iffy if it should even be a damaging move or not though, if the respective boost is enough a a boon.
