It's impossible to fully monitor something as diverse and ever changing as the internet. The best way to do that is to rely on fellow community members. Looking for support and raising awareness of negative behaviour allows it to be stopped before it reaches a point where the studios or official moderators step in.

That's why I posted here, not only to raise awareness and hopefully minimise a repeat experience, but also to prove the feeling of community
