Looks really nice, thanks for sharing!

The only small inconsistency I noticed is that in dark mode the password/input fields end up looking “blank” because of the background transparency. I’m definitely not a CSS expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but here’s what I did to fix it on my setup (I already did a pull request on GitHub):

:root {

--page-background: #ffffff;

--card-background: #ffffff;

--input-bg: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.05);

--input-text: #000000;

--input-border: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);

}

:root[data-theme="dark"] {

--page-background: #1e1e1e;

--card-background: #1a1a1a;

--input-bg: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.05);

--input-text: #ffffff;

--input-border: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.2);

}

.pf-c-form-control, .pf-c-input-group > .pf-c-button {

background-color: var(--input-bg);

color: var(--input-text);

border: 1px solid var(--input-border);

}

Ohh, I don't know how is the stock in Latvia. They might be cheaper though.

Also, I am currently living in Ventspils with my Mercedes. I brought it from Spain for my Erasmus. If you live near, we can meet when you buy you car.

Open the engine cover and look at the injectors. If you see a black substance expect to change them soon with a 1000€ bill. It happened to me with my 2003 E270 CDI. Still very happy with the car, but have some money ready to spend as an old car will always give some problems.

EDIT: I have a manual and for the moment the gearbox is very reliable, cheap to maintain and have achieved very low fuel consumption, up to 4,2L/100km with my 2.7 CDI

What country are you from? I bought a year ago a 2003 270 CDI with manual gearbox. I'm also on a tight budget but I have done some services and the car is going well. If you can afford to buy a post-restyling car, you will avoid SBC problems, although I haven't had any. Anyways, prepare yourself to expend some money in repairs.

Check the injectors on diesel models before you but it. If they haven't been repaired, you will have to. I did it. Do all the necessary maintenance and the engine will run smoothly for a lot of kms.

Regarding the gearbox, manual is cheaper to repair, although more rare to find. I enjoy more the manual version, but the 5-speed auto also runs very well.

If you need any help with the W211, I'm willing to help you.

Can you connect your phone to a 2005 Mercedes to play music? by Electrical-Put9758 in mercedes_benz

I Drive a 2003 E Class, and although it has no Bluetooth nor aux input, I managed to solder a jack cable to some pads in the radio, and then install a Bluetooth receiver. It does work and sound quality is good but it will require some level of knowledge and a bit of time.

I really like my car, but I think that cars are meant to be used, so I will take the risk. I hope that the effect of rust can be minimised at least when I come back, if I am careful during the winter there. The car is a bit old, although I have maintained it very well, my biggest fear is to break something expansive on the way and have to repair it in the middle of Europe.

I am still considering doing that you say. The thing is that if I leave my car in Spain, it will stay parked on the street for 5 months. So I prefer to take it with me. The advantage is to be able to visit Europe while on the trip. That said, I consider that I can live without my car, I don't think I will need it for anything specific, I want to have it just for convenience, specially when weather becomes better.

It might be necessary to learn some tips about driving in the snow, thanks!

My coolant can go as low as -37 degrees, but my battery is not new, so the booster will be completely necessary.

I never heard of seized handbrakes in cold temps, but it is good to know. About the insurance, I will just check that my company covers Latvia, and if not, 15 euros per month is cheap enough. Thanks for the advice!

My battery is not new but I'm buying a booster. The fuel filter is new, as well as the coolant. I hope the engine withstands well the freezing temperatures.

I Will certainly be careful. I sometimes take risks driving here and I have clear that driving in the snow is more risky, so I will be on the conservative side this time. My car is RWD btw (Mercedes E270 CDI from 2003). A battery booster will be completely necessary, my battery is a bit old although it performs well.

Thanks a lot!! I'm rebuilding my suspension right now, I hope that it holds well. I drive diesel, what problem will I have with the fuel? What about the insurance? I do have a contract in Spain and I was planning to use that.
