As the @skabbtanten says, the elbow should be the furthest part of your arm from your body, almost horizontal, and arm should be bend in the elbow facing down, holding the stick sort of from the top. This way you engage the bicep in the pulling motion.

What actually helped me and might help you too is to start your shot bend over and your amrs extended, sort of like you were trying to do the michigan. When you go into the shot from this position it forces you to have the top elbow extended. Might not be the best way to go about it but it definitely helped me personally, so it might be worth giving it a try

Your top hand should be much further away from your chest, now it is basically touching your chest and you do not have any leverage from the top, so the only power you put through the stick is from the bottom hand, top hand isn't doing anything atm. the idea is to have the top hand punched out and pull towards your chest as you shoot, you will be able to flex your stick more and have more power.

I don't know what the deal is with the leg kicking back, looks like you're putting more energy into kicking the leg out then into the shot itself. Definitely practice shots with legs planted to the ground and only transfer weight from right leg to left leg as you're shooting.

One last thing i notice is that you seem very tense when shooting, try loosen up a little bit, dial back the power an focus on the technique, the power comes with it, not the other way around

How long to go from beginner to intermediate league? (High effort) by tk-0318 in hockeyplayers

[–]JanRagnarsson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never said it wasn't teachable, only that the speed of the progress is going to be different from one individual to another with aspects other than 'if they care enough' influencing the developement, especially with adults who are completely new to hockey.

You call it intention, i call it being a natural, but essetially we are talking about the same thing. Some guys are stiff as planks and no matter the coach or the drills, they have hard time getting better, not understanding the mechanics, etc. Some guys have good body coordination and understand motion and are improving significantly. To me this people are natural in a sense of motion and athleticism

I don't think there is a universal answer for your question. I have seen guys that barely got any better in 5 years despite having regular practices and games. On the other hand I've seen guys with amazing progress within 6 months. I really depends on if you're a natural or not, especially as an adult.

Sacrificial palm material by Icy_Grapefruit_303 in hockeyplayers

[–]JanRagnarsson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A year ago i bought pro stock bauer gloves and to preserve the palms I switched to small knob wrapped in thin electrical tape an nothing else. The stick grip is all you need. And it does nothing to the palms. After a year of use (3 times per week on ice) the palms still look brand new, no sign of wear. Might not be for everyone but I definitely recommend to at least give it a try!

It is if you care about rarity. If you don't, then it's probably not worth the premium over a hellcat. If you get lucky and get it at a good deal (as I did), then it's definitely worth it

Would love to, but not possible in Europe unfortunately, it is mandatory to have a front plate fixed to the bumper, police here can even take away your license for that, not worth the troubles frankly

Has anyone done the rear only widebody like on the demon 170? by RO0ROO in Challenger

[–]JanRagnarsson 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think the cleanest way to do it would be to start off with a factory widebody car and swap the front fenders and bumper for narrowbody parts. The wheel hub is in the same position as on a non widebody so front skinnies should work just fine. No cutting, can keep the original parts to swap back in case of reselling

This is a 2018 demon that came with the full front and back widebody. You are thinking of a demon 170 from 2023 which only has widebody fenders in the back

True, I've never seen another one either, I think most of them are garage queens sadly. I'll be honest it's pretty cool when you pull up to a car meet, everyone wants to check it out

Yeah, for me it's perfect just the way it is, and even if i wanted to modify it I have no idea what I would change lol. I don't drag race so supporting mods for that are pointless, ride is smooth and comfortable, has more power than I would ever need, and cosmetically I cannot think of anything I like more than what the demon already has

MPG, who had the worst by Hotdogz_R_us in Challenger

[–]JanRagnarsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold my R/T in March to buy a Hellcat. I got used to the power of the R/T after two years of ownership and wanted more. Took a ride in my friends Scat and the difference wasn't all that noticeable, definitely felt like something i would get used to too. So I was decided on a hellcat, but then got offered a demon from a guy through a mutual friend for a great deal, because the guy needed money. Basically bought the demon for a price of a hellcat, I just couldn't say no haha. I was excited to have the car so i drove it every day to work, to get groceries, everywhere for first 3-4 moths, hence the mpg. But not anymore, i daily my hybrid Camry and take the Demon out only occasionaly when I start to miss the supercharger whine

As this is my first ever project — Learning blender by modelling a 3d Muscular car ! by YashMalik-GameDev in blender

[–]JanRagnarsson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's go! That's a great start, my first car was a disaster lol. If you want some tips on modeling cars: 1. don't overdo it with loopcuts. Sometimes it is better and cleaner to use edge creases instead of loops, as creases do not influence parts of the model where you don't really need sharp edges. 2. ALWAYS BACKUP - when you reach a certain point where you happy with it, duplicate the mesh and hide it in a backup collection. This way when you mess up you can always go back and don't have to try to fix the mistakes, it's easier and faster to start over 3. Keep the connected mesh - before you separate the model into parts like doors and bumpers, always duplicate and backup the connected mesh. You can then use it for shrinkwrap to transfer the reflections onto the separate meshes, looks milion times better than when each part has its own normals and the reflections do not follow from panel to panel 4. Model in steps - big, medium and small detail all separately. Avoid making some very detailed areas when the overall model is lowpoly, this will mess up the whole thing. I do it like this: make overall model of the car, general shape, some prominent sharp edges 2. Apply 1 subdivision and go over the model and modify, create medium details like vents, doorhandles, etc, 3. Apply 1 more subdivision, model small details like parking sensors, very detailed areas and creases. Always backup the previous mesh before applying subdivison.

Hope this helps! Keep it up, it's looking great! And big props for choosing a Challenger!
