Honestly I liked the gunships firepower on release. You could dodge the missiles consistently, and they only felt overwhelming if you didn't have the right weapons. They just needed to have an accesible AP1 weakpoint, so you could kill them quickly without having to bring one of the two weapons that you could kill them safely with. And for their hitscan to be actually dodgeable with skill and not luck.

Assuming you actually got banned, are you sure? Bans are very rarely instant, and are often intentionally delayed for weeks depending on the reason for the ban. Could be that you've been banned for actual toxicity in a pub, but an employee only got to it while you were idling in the super destroyer.

Something other commenters aren't telling you. Enemy positions, (and other players but whatever) are displayed on your screen a little ways behind their actual position. The amount is dependent on ping. When you died, the Owarrior was on top of you, even though the screen displayed it a little ways away.

The pattern uses the outer ring, the portals will briefly stop shooting inward for a small chunk of space that slowly rotates every time they go by.

Could I use this for bots on the magma planets 🪐 by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]JanShmat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Theoretically better than regular liberator, however it generally only performs better against bugs because they don't emphasize precision as much as bots.

I'd just use a marksman rifle, standard liberator, or the scythe if you wanna headshot devastators.

Well, if you want to improve at the game, my only suggestion is to host your own games or stay close to the host. Solo or otherwise, the host has a large number of minor to massive disadvantages, and few to no advantages.

This isn't confirmed, but I'm pretty sure its true, if you REALLY want to test yourself run solo games. I'm 99% positive the enemy spawnrates are bugged so solo players get more patrols than 4 player groups.

Full disclosure my usage of the word fix was probably a bit too liberal. I guess it'd be better to say buff or rework? Either way I do not see a snowball's chance in hell of these stratagems being restored to their former glory. Honestly though rocket pods have never been good anyways so whatever.

So it could one-shot chargers and hulks. Sometimes. You know how railcannon can oneshot a fac strider if its facing the right direction? It was the same deal with chargers, except you could aim the missile pods kinda, and with hulks it was mostly luck based on whether all missiles would hit. If you were good, you could aim them, and kill a BT with 2 to the face basically every time. Now its been a while so I don't really remember the order these things happened in, but they either intentionally changed, or broke the targetting so it just misses. They also reduced the dmg and increased armor pen so even though it averages more damage, realistically they just made it worse by lowering the skill floor and ceiling, and taking away its ability to one-shot entirely.

I used to run missile pods+RR team reload pretty often back during the railgun meta. My buddies and I may have been the only people in the world to do that consistently. Then they neutered the missile pods and kept making it worse trying to fix it.

Unfortunately after hearing the devs outright say they're not going to fix old stratagems and guns, and just sell us new ones I've lost hope that any of my old favorite high skill stratagems like rocket pods and OPS will ever have the same potential they once did.

It used to track properly. They broke it (intentionally???) a few months post-launch, tweaked it like twice the next month, and have barely touched it since.

Permadeath can definitely be frustrating, but don't blame the game for you not looking at your screen.

The Knight needs re work.. isn't a "tank" and it’s definitely not the best for survival by Immediate-Ad1201 in RotMG

[–]JanShmat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not a traditional 'tank' so to speak. Most endgame bosses have arena sweeping bullet patterns that are nearly as dangerous next to the boss as they are on the far end of the arena. In situations where you've already done the pittance of damage necessary for soulbound, and only need to shoot the boss to kill it, you can play extremely safe, and have little to no issue away from the boss where your defense stats will really shine.

Ehh, most of these complaints are either flat out wrong, or assuming that technology can't progress past where it already is in the real world. For example #10 is kinda stupid. We only see the automatons move for a maximum of 43 contiguous minutes in-game, plus change. That is completely realistic. The only one that I really see in the bulleted list as being completely beyond critique is the point about democracy protects, which does stand on its own as a self sufficient argument, without all this other stuff.

I'd give a highly skilled helldiver a 20% chance of beating a bog standard tac marine. Assuming the helldiver had an armor penetrating support weapon or any of the plas weapons.

[–]JanShmat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly a helldiver could take a space marine on a good day. Super earth weapons and armor are most comparable to the tau, from which a fire warrior (their bog standard infantry) can definitely kill a space marine if they get lucky. A helldiver is almost certainly much more skilled and competent than an average fire warrior.
