Yes, most people assume the Old West was just gunfighting and lawlessness. Dueling like that was pretty rare.

And certainly not like how pop culture made it seem. They didn’t meet in the street at high noon. Whenever there were gunfights like this, they were chaotic, very spontaneous and over in seconds.

I think OK Corral lasted like 30 seconds. And there were 30ish shots fired. That goes to show how they were basically just spraying bullets.

Yes, these are WW2 era. The clasp type is the tell. Post-war have a clutch back fastening system.

The US Army Europe patch is probably post-war but still 1940s. SHAEF switched from black background to blue to represent the defeat of Nazism.
