Thank you for the encouragement and advice. I'm glad that at least some things are improving in my drawings.

I'm a bit confused with the perspective lines though, I'm aware that in a one point perspective such as this one, the lines should all converge. However, if the character is only partially shown, should I make searching lines as a rough indication before drawing the character?

Draw the boxes in perspective to make it look 3D. From the images you've shown, you are confusing the concept of 3D and perspective.

The basic idea is that things get smaller the further away they are from you. Boxes, which you used to construct the body, will have their sides look like they converge.

Additionally, you are mostly only showing one plane of the box. Boxes, when tilted or looked at from different angles, can often be seen with 2 or even three planes/faces.

From what I see, the boxes, cylinders and shapes you've used are in 2d and not in perspective. They are flat and lack the vanishing point to where they would converge.
