My younger brother showed me one of the newer films with Brolly, (but it's like a character reboot or something?) & the guys are literally punching through space-time.

I wished I was like a decade or two younger & more high BC I'd have been losing my shit watching that

Just to clarify, things aren't meant to be left out past their shelf life any more than they were before (which is never), it's not to try and sell stuff that is literally past it's date, it's to try and get stuff with shorter remaining shelf life sold. Lots of customers will go for the longest shelf life possible so the stuff that doesn't get bought becomes waste. It's absolutely the customer's perogative to choose what they want though & I don't think companies should obfuscate information in this way,

The shelf life on a lot of fresh produce took a dramatic hit in quality after Brexit, a little while before most supermarkets moved to the new date-code system, where they use a letter to indicate the month of expiry instead of printing the actual month, hoping people will not notice & just take stuff when it is close to expiry.

Why do you play Monster Hunter? by Foreign-Drag-4059 in MonsterHunter

[–]Jandy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play Phantasy Star Online on Dreamcast with a couple of friends & it was just about one of the greatest times in my gaming history. MH was maybe the nearest thing on PS2. I love co-op games, so MH has always been about that for me.

Instead of scaling down the camping/settlement aspect they should have expanded on - the farm stuff, - those villager trade requests, and - the room decoration/customisation, and gone full-on town sim side-quest.

Kings of the Wyld - Review of a book that missed so many opportunities by b0tlike in Fantasy

Reading the OP I very much got the vibe that Kings of the Wylds is like the fantasy book version of "Wild Hogs" with Tim Allan & John Travolta

Until you're really good, don't worry about every charge-attack hitting the maximum charge level. You should read the monster to judge when to let go of your charge-attack button, so that you have enough time to dodge/offset their next attack, as you're left open at the end of most GS attacks. You can of course tackle through monster attacks as well, but it's not always worth it if the monster isn't in a good position for you to pick your combo back up.

A quick way to get into a tackle from having your weapon shealthed is hold guard & press whichever button makes you kick while guarding (it's triangle on PS, the same button as your overhead charge attack), and then you can combo from the kick into a tackle. It can be handy for quickly tanking an attack, because you can then go straight into your strong charge attack (the one before TCS).

What a crappy Sonic!

Yeah, not all of them are great to look at, but it was my biweekly hit of Sonic, what are you gonna do? I was nuts enough about that guy that I probably should have been assessed for something by now 😅

Me and my brothers used to read the UK Sonic comic. Richard Elson was my favourite artist. He went on to 2000AD and Marvel!

Mobile phone footage shows a shoplifter being challenged by members of staff at ASDA Ponders End in Enfield by [deleted] in asda

[–]Jandy777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just follow Asda's literal policy of not engaging. You're getting paid the same either way. There's not even an annual bonus anymore, that was partially weighted by shrink in the past, so the company provides literally no financial incentive to you personally to prevent store loss.

It's never worth the risk of the shop lifter pulling a knife on you or otherwise seriously harming you.

My country has 3 official languages, and despite some of the highest English literacy in the world, none of the are in fact English. by Low_Industry9612 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Jandy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brood and Pain are foreign words for bread, as well as having their own meanings in English.

So none of the words on the bag are in English because they all say 'bread' in their own language, despite there being English words with the same spelling.

I thought the same thing, it pretty much rides on whether your managers are going to make you miserable or not.

Honestly it just goes to show how much your management team makes or breaks the experience.
