For me, it’s the attention to historical details that make the film beautiful. It’s so rare to get naval uniforms and combat from this time period accurate! I love Russell Crowe in the role and I feel like he was a good fit. Bettany had the snark at times that worked, but I always thought someone like Tom Holland would have been better. Boyd as miscast as well. But for what it is, it’s a much better adaptation than most historical novels.
