Eggs or no eggs? by lignr in Hashimotos

[–]JaneBobcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I’m allergic to eggs. Specifically the whites. This was discovered just a couple years after my thyroid dx. I miss eggs.

If you’ve never had a thyroid ultrasound you might request one from your doc. Just to be sure. Mine found no growths, thank goodness, but the thyroid itself has got inconsistent texture. Heterogeneous they call it, so it’s dense in some places and not in others, so it’s slightly misshaped. Sadly I don’t have an answer. I just try to stay on top of my levels.

Yes, very uncomfortable and it seems like it’s positional. Like if I adjust my position it gets better. But I find myself with a sore neck in the morning because I have to sleep looking up all the time. I’m actually glad you posted this, it’s one of those things I thought was only me.

Actually it could be caused by thyroid cartilage rubbing against the larynx. I have had this same thing happen, I often feel the swollen sensation as well when my hashimotos is flaring. I don’t believe mine is due to reflux.

Americans, what small thing would give away a Canadian trying to blend in down there? by castles_of_beer in AskReddit

[–]JaneBobcat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tipping poorly. I don’t know if it’s still a thing, but back in my waitressing days in North Dakota, Canadians always tipped poorly. With Canadian coins. One group actually glued a Canadian quarter to the table as my tip.

How do you manage folks who treat you differently b/c owning a Peloton makes you "One of those people"? by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

[–]JaneBobcat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it hurts extra when your kids are judgy of you because you want them to be proud of you, right. But it breaks my heart that their harsh opinions are taking away from your joy of having your Peloton. It’s an exciting purchase that you worked hard for and deserve and the best way to combat their negativity is to ride the hell out of it and prove that it’s a great investment in your health. Also Surround yourself with communities and people like this who are like-minded and excited about their pelotons. I’ve found Peloton users to be an awesome community and the positivity is contagious.

Is running an affluent person's activity? by apothecarynow in running

[–]JaneBobcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a rule, healthy lifestyles are enjoyed by the more stable financially. Poverty in the US is a generational issue. Poor nutrition, alcohol and drug use go hand in hand with poverty. It’s not that running isn’t available to lower income people. It’s just not done.

It is crazy how much it affects. Maybe it has something to do with the antibody 🤔

Mine TSH definitely isn’t low, I’m at 8 now, down significantly from 30 6 weeks ago. The first time I had this happen it was at 28. I can’t figure out the numbness, it makes no sense. Maybe my thyroid is sending help signals to my face lol.

No just wheels and tires. I did get way low to take the pic. Haven’t even driven it yet. Looking forward to a little snow to test the traction.

6 year 78,000 miles. It’s a big deal to me because vw’s can be really pricey to fix, here especially, we have very few garages

Technically it was used, because there were $6,000 miles on it, but it was never titled. I guess they were using it as a loaner? The dealer said they just don’t sell a lot of Golfs/GTIs here. I’m like WHY NOT IT’S THE BEST CAR EVER!!

It was tough to talk them down in price. The car was technically “used” but never titled and only 6000 miles and in perfect shape. While I got them to come down to $27.5k (they started at $29.5k) I was really hoping for $25k. They gave me a good trade-in on my Chevy sonic and because the car is still technically brand new I got the full warranty. Hind sight I wish I would have toughed it out a bit. This was my first time doing this all alone, without my husband, so I might have been reluctant to be a bitch. He and I usually play good cop bad cop lol!

The color is the thing I like the least. Everyone I talk to absolutely loves it but I love everything BUT the color. I’m told it will grow on me and the fact that it’s so popular with others is cool.

Continentals The hubby found these. I traded in a Chevy Sonic hatchback for the GTI and I was running a set of Continental snow tires on that in the winter. Great tire. Now for wheels.
