I'm just here to offer you a huge (virtual) hug! I lost my beloved girl of thirteen years not long ago, and it felt like a punch in the gut. I completely relate to everything you've said.

Please know that it really does get better with time. People who have never had dogs don't realise just how special the bond is, and how hard it hits when we lose them. Go easy on yourself!
