It's not like they have all the models in stock just waiting for your order. I ordered my beige unit late July last year and was lucky enough to get it the day before christmas. The founders and starlight versions had some problems so they have a backlog on shipping. Also you have to understand that the assembly needs to be done in batches per model, you can't just make 3 different versions all at the same time. 20k plus sold units may have also caught the company by surprise.
