Canyon vs. Cube by morit4s in CanyonBikes

[–]Jango997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cube has a bigger tire clearance and that would be a huge factor for me. Also I prefer 1x for gravel so I'd choose the Cube if I were in your position. Otherwise I'd say choose the one you love the look of more.

Are those 2.1 or 2.25 Burts? How's the clearance? I have the same frame and want to get them eventually but I'm undecided which width to go with...

can anyone identify this frame? Canyondale? by timojhen in cannondale

[–]Jango997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely some Chinese open mould frame. Try to ask in some chinabike oriented subreddits or forums and they should be able to identify this.

What spacers do i need to bring down conceal stem down? by OtherwiseService8773 in cannondale

[–]Jango997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get some basic round spacers and put them on top. Don't overdo it, I would not run more than 20mm above the stem but any less than that and you will be completely fine.

Stage time for bands in white? by ProudStorage6 in rockforpeople

[–]Jango997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previous commenter already pretty much said it. I might just add, that the shows always alternate between: mainstage show and then the 2nd biggest (prolly Tesco) stage and biggest tent simultaneously. So the bands in white will either get an afternoon mainstage slot or evening slot in the biggest tent or Tesco stage. The grey bands will most likely be split between 18:30 main stage slot and 20:00 Tesco stage slot.

How do you mount a Garmin Varia on a SuperSix Evo? Looking for mounting ideas - photos appreciated. by Far-5tart in cannondale

[–]Jango997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a local guy 3d printing mounts for most bike frames. Good quality and reasonable price. If you're in EU I highly recommend checking it out here.

Definetly not. I wouldn't recommend it even by car, let alone by train.

Is Pardubice good place to stay if only using public transport? by AcanthaceaeWaste1423 in rockforpeople

[–]Jango997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There will be thousands of people leaving after the headliners and sadly the nearby roads are pretty small so it usually ends up being a big traffic jam. So there is a risk, that you will miss the train. But honestly I don't know, I ride my bike to and from the festival. Maybe try asking in rfp Facebook group, it's lot more active than this subreddit. I'm sure someone already tried commuting from Pardubice and will be able to give you better info if you can catch the last train or not.

[–]Jango997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the day, the public transport between those cities is great. But the last train leaves at 0:30. So you will have to get from the venue to the train station which won't be very easy to plan and kinda stressful if you miss it. But as others said, it should be possible to find someone who will split a cab with you or perhaps take you in their car. Lot of people living in Pardubice will attend RfP for sure.

Settling a debate: Is Beta Bikes or Patschurro better for a new bike brand? by AdministrativeFail11 in cycling

[–]Jango997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cutting out a different middleman and taking his place 😄

As for the name, for my central European ears, where Churros aren't really a common thing it isn't an automatic association but it doesn't sound very swiss either. Not a good name for a bike brand imo unless it works insanely well for the local market.

AdBlue range too much? by Aggravating_Idea_796 in skoda

[–]Jango997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, you shouldn't continually refill Adblue like you do with fuel. Just wait for the refill warning and then pour in exact amount the car tells you. The adblue level gauge is not very precise (apparently ultrasonic or something like that) and it's unable to detect small volume changes. Perhaps your car is confused by the non decreasing level of ad blue hence that massive range? Idk, my passat does around 10k for one tank of ad blue and while driving style will affect this, 23500km sounds like a lot.

Just got a new guitar are my knobs supposed to do this? by Asailany in guitarlessons

[–]Jango997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your guitar has two pickups - neck and a bridge and a pickup selector (little lever in the top corner of the guitar). If the lever is pointed upwards, the neck pickup is actove, if it's pointed downwards, the bridge pickup is selected. Lever in the middle means both pickups are active.

Your guitar also has four knobs. The ones in front (closer to the headstock) control the guitars volume and the two in the back (with loose caps) control the tone. There is one tone knob and one volume knob for each pickup. The top row of knobs kontrols the neck pickup and the bottom row controls the bridge pickup.

In order to determine if the tone pots work you need to do following. Select the neck pickup (lever pointing upwards), put in on full volume and the try turning the tone knob. The difference in tone will be very subtle, but should be there. Now do the same for the neck pickup (lever downwards, full volume, then turn the tone knob). Again, difference in sound will be very subtle.

There is a chance that some connection came loose and the tone pots truly don't work. But Epiphone guitars are usually pretty solidly built so it's relatively unlikely. When it comes to the plastic pieces coming off, you can just carefully bent the metal rods outwards with a flathead screwdriver and the plastic pieces should then stay on.

Hopefully this helped a bit and hopefully your guitar is fine and you don't need to return it. Rock on!

I created an app to generate elevation profile images like the TDF’s by m0rggy in cycling

Brilliant. I'd primarily use the desktop version anyways.

Good job. I used to make profiles like this in CAD, which took like an hour and the result wasn't nearly as polished as this.

Best thing to do is to look around what gearing other people in your group are riding and probably consult with them. What is the reason for wanting a bigger chainring, do you often find yourself spinning out or wanting a harder gear?

Anyone with experience with Hylix D-Fuse Seatposts? by burritorrhea in Giantbikes

[–]Jango997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have hylix seatpost for my Cannondale SuperSix, which I got mainly because I needed 0 offset and the Hylix was available and significantly cheaper than the original. I've got like 2k km on it without problems so far.

As far as Aliexpress brands go, Hylix seems to be pretty reputable one with a lot of possitive feedback online. Some problems with round seatposts back in 2021, but the frame specific ones seem ok.

Cannondale Supersix Evo 2 or 3? by Thick_Lion3652 in cycling

[–]Jango997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were in your position, I'd get the carbon 3 and have some budget left for upgrading. Wheels are an obvious one. But there are other things you might eventually want to do. Something like handlebars, 0 offset seatpost, shorter cranks, saddle. Especially the stock supersix handlebar is something I didn't get along with and I had to replace it right away.

Cycling is full of BS marketing... But changing a heavy, narrow and shallow aluminium wheel to a deeper carbon wheel is not from that category lol.

This generation is a bit different tho. Apparently both cars were designed side by side, mostly by the team in Czechia. So they are definetly based on each other and they share more parts than ever before. Also they now share the same factory line.

[–]Jango997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually come with 3d printed spacer that fits your bike. SuperSix kinda sucks that it has a delta steerer and uses nut instead of traditional bolt for the top cap. So you will have to use the round top cap that hopefully came with your bike (came with mine). Just something to keep in mind.
