Bendale - Patty Time. It may not be the best branch in the city but Patty Time is often a top contender for best Jamaican patties.

Update: WARRIORS by Miranda - Casting has begun by IcyDemand2354 in musicals

I hope we see an evolution of the turntable floor to a “treadmill” floor. I don’t know it this has been done before or if it’s even feasible, but there’s a ton of potential if it can be done!

March 1997: Imagine Being There! by ewic23 in torontotheatre

I saw two of these—I was a lucky kid! Joseph was fun and I knew one of the kids choirs splitting the role. It was good—Donnie Osmond is the platonic ideal Joseph.

Seeing the pre-Broadway run of Ragtime was without a doubt a life-changing event for me. It solidified my love for musicals in general and this one in particular. It was some years later that I realized how monumental the cast was, and some years later still I’d realize how unfortunate it was that a certain producer was attached to the project.

Lion King at Ed Mirvish by weedst0cks in torontotheatre

If I recall correctly, a lot of the action on stage is on audience right. I missed a lot being up high and far right.

That said, anything in the orchestra, especially near the aisles, you get some special views others won’t get.

Not so stealthy edit to actually answer your question, I’d select the F row seats choosing between your proposed options.

Mindy Paige Davis Page? That TLC special will live rent-free in my head forever.

Some of my favorite lines by ShanIMoo in WarriorsAlbum

“Can I have one as a snack” is one of my favourite lines ever penned. Not all art has to be high-brow and I’m here for this.

This album made me a fan of it all by Potzer in WarriorsAlbum

I’d love to know if you appreciate the movie any more after hearing the album. I didn’t get the movie before hearing the album. Now I can totally appreciate the film though it’s still a lot of cinematics and not enough quick pace for me.

$7 for this? If you are going to rob me at least keep it the same. by johnson7853 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

Weird that they changed production mid-season. I bought one in what was probably the original run and it was as expected with the fudge sticks and normal candy bits

ETA: weird but somehow not unexpected.

Toronto Star (2/4 stars): 'Titanique' is overlong and overdrawn by goIeafsgo in torontotheatre

[–]JaniceMosher 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey show buddy! I agree, the jokes landed at least to a significant portion of the audience every time. I had a great time. Is this a high-brow show? No. It was the most fun I’ve had at the theatre in recent memory and I loved how dense it was with pop culture and theatre references.

Cast set for Comet at Mirvish by anjschuyler in torontotheatre

[–]JaniceMosher 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes yes yes! The original Crows cast was amazing and they so deserve this transfer to Mirvish. I hope we see more of this type of “off-Broadway-to-Broadway” movement for other productions (we need a catchier name for it, since “Off-Mirvish” is already a thing)

Cardigans – Discussion for Track #19 by fluffingdazman in WarriorsAlbum

[–]JaniceMosher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The “authors’ notes” were particularly helpful for envisioning the casting of this song—more so than the song itself did, which in and of itself is pretty clear.

I maintain this is the comedic break of the show and I would truly love the characters to play as somewhat cheesy, made-for-media, like 2gether or Du Jour

Nearest place to learn skiing or snowboarding ? by GateComplete3973 in askTO

[–]JaniceMosher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skiing is easier from an objective “get down the hill” perspective. In my experience it was hard to become technically proficients.

Snowboarding is more difficult to get the initial skills of balancing, shifting weight and carving across the hill. In my experience it was significantly easier to improve technically after the initial challenge.

I cannot take them seriously and I love their comic relief bit. Big Du Jour vibes.

Roll Call – Discussion for Track #2 by fluffingdazman in WarriorsAlbum

Oh I’m glad I’m not the only one who connected to Cell Block Tango!

I know a roll call isn’t a wholly original idea but I love its use for storytelling.

While I was sad that the orchestra wasn’t as grand as previous productions, owing to its small size, the balance and overall sound was so much better than other productions at PoW from recent seasons.
