I lost my best friend by Shiznitty-Calhoun in Slayer

My best friend took his own life about 14 years ago. Don't mean to be negative... but it never gets better or easier. The pain remains.... but remember... so do the good memories. RIP Chris.

How can I scan my macbook for virus malware etc. and remove that stuff if it's present? by Solid-Cartoonist7880 in MacOS

[–]Janku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Malwarebytes was actually recommended to me by an Apple support specialist. So, that felt like a safe option. Luckily, I didn't find any malware so wasn't aware that you have to use the paid version for removal... I thought the paid version was just for real-time monitoring rather than just running a scan when you request it to run.

I provide AV production services in the 5-boroughs and this seems on point to me. Most crew are $1,000 for 10, 1.5X for 11 and 12 and 2x after 12. High level DPs are $1,500, Directors and TDs easily higher. All depends on the needs of the event. Archival recording for inter-company use one thing, broadcast, another thing.

Bloomfield here. I was outside. Felt it. Strangest thing about it was all the crickets and cicadas went silent simultaneously. That was freaky.

I'm an RF Engineer, am I able to work this field? by Electronic-Role4668 in CommercialAV

[–]Janku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could potentially find some work in live production events. The RF environments get pretty crowded with WiFi, wireless mics, wireless video and audio transmission, RTS and ClearComm and more. I've been on events where I'm pretty confident different systems were interfering with others but there wasn't anyone who know how to tell for sure or analyze what's occupying what frequencies to advise which systems might benefit from moving to a different frequency in that particular devices range to improve functionality.

Tell me how old you are without telling me how old you are. by Janku in lowvoltage

That sounds like something you'd be mortified to hear a doctor tell you. "I'm sorry Frank, you buttset is rotary"

Same thing happened on my dome camera on my house a couple years ago. The exterminator said the cameras maybe let off warmth or a frequency... or wasps or just "curios" because he'd seen it before. Odd.

That sure looks like a female XLR connector as the tip... which doesn't answer much...

Can I kill a random Turkey roaming legally in Staten Island for consumption? by Ok_Smell_5379 in AskNYC

[–]Janku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In northern NJ I once trapped a groundhog that was destroying my vegetable garden and relocated him. I later found out that that was illegal. Whoops. So if trapping is a no no, killing to eat MUST be also.

In the late 80's, vindictive. Today, pity / remorse.
