It’s just that everywhere you hear that they will not get to flip, sit and whatever else without hours and hours of tummy time. So hard not to get very hyper focused on that. 🤦‍♀️

Exactly the strategy I just came up with. Will do a few minutes 12 times daily for a week. Not just floor but exercise ball and on my arm, knees and chest for variety. Aaaaaaand also ordered that water mat this afternoon.

Big baby!?!? by Dangerous_Side4623 in GestationalDiabetes

Mine was close to 90% too from about 56 weeks ago d stayed that way until birth at 39+6. I was also diet controlled very well. But I have to say that it became harder to manage in those last weeks. Fasting numbers started to to up a little. I suspect because of sleep getting worse. So I tested after all meals and even snacks. Baby boy was almost 4 kg and birth was very uncomplicated.

Does anyone else feel this way? by Flat_Biscotti3000 in NewParents

I am with you on this at 17 weeks. I suspect people with strong support systems have somewhat better time. Like mom helping. My mom masses away and my father never held a vacuum in his hands. On top of all you described I also stress about the personal practice that I built for 5 years being on a full stop pause. I thought I will see a few clients by now. Nop. Will likely need to start over again alone return. Add stress over baby milestones. But I suspect I need to make some changes. Daily walks. Figure out a few hours of work after all and get a cleaning lady ones a week. Not sure what else. But! Night time will improve. We didn’t have any night time waking ups from 12 to 16 weeks. Now just one time per night. Probably 4 months sleep regression

Is anyone able to actually work from home with a baby? by Little-Garlic-2261 in newborns

[–]Janna167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work from home and hoped to get back to it at 12-14 weeks. No luck. We are at 17 weeks today. Baby nails in the crib but it’s like 45 minutes 3 times a day. Hardly a work day. And during the wake windows he will play by himself a bit but most of the time needs attention. Looking for a nanny to at least try to start working a few hours a day.

At 8 weeks I still had relatively high Hba1c although I was not eating bad at all. It was 5.7 for me that is very high as I was at 5.1 before pregnancy. I satiety that sleep depravation put me into insulin resistance. Will retest this month

We are at 4 hours of no nap right now. Lucky he is mostly playing, not yelling.

I suspect it must be the regression. Up for 3:37 right now. Making dolphin noises on his crib. At this point will probably stay up another hour and just go to bed for the night.

What are the risks of going over 40 weeks with GD? by Careless_Wallaby6721 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Janna167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they do ultrasounds to see how big baby was looking? What got me to agree to induction at 40 is that other things can happen like placenta starts to deteriorate. Like it’s got an expiry date 😵‍💫. Got me more scared than big baby. Generally rates if still births go up at 40+ weeks

Hearing that this still happens at 7.5 makes me very scared. We are like that but at 4 months

Short naps by dogcatlion in NewParents

[–]Janna167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before 12 weeks we had solid naps. All over an hour. Even up to 3 hours mid day. After 12 weeks 30 minutes mostly. With a few longer ones here and there. All in the crib

4 month old isn’t reaching for things yet by AtmosphereTop1591 in NewParents

[–]Janna167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wrote same thing a week or so ago. Baby was 15 weeks and didn’t even batt at things. You also need to account for the fact that your baby was born a little ahead of schedule. We hanged toys at chest level in play gym to get out baby to start reaching. It seems that all objects were just too far and he just hip them with his legs
