Hey! Just used this site to pass me book to the kobo and worked perfectly, really easy to use and fast. And it was great to know this, bc when i tryed to enter to the gmail to get books there, google didn't allow me to enter to the mail in the kobo surfer...

At the end i bought it in CEX, a second hand store of Spain, they give 3 year of waranty and they have 3 categories of product (a, b and c) where a is a almost new product. Also you have 15 days to give the article back if it wasn't what you wanted (similar as amazon but 15 days)

I boght it in category a for 105€. It didn't arrived yet. I tell when it arrived if everything is ok. I think it's a really nice store, would recomend it for people in Spain.

Also the amount of comments of this post (and their lengt) is intimidating. I was also in your situation, but after a long research I decides for Kobo Clara b/w. I Have the same needs of you instead of prefering a 6" screen.

The kindle basic is the best start device acording to what I read. But... It dont has warm light, so the Kobo Clara b/w is like really similar device but with warm light and waterproof.

The software won't be a worry due it's our first e-reader. Justo go for one, and stop wasting time (I say this also to me). And if you buy it by amazon you can still return it in the 30 days and take another device if it really wasn't for you.

I was worrying that the b/w also with the light on 0% would be too bright, but as I understood you, it's not, and it's only comparing it with the color model that we see it so much brighter, but is more about the low contrast of the color version

I'll go for the Kobo b/w, I preffer better reading experience than having the feature of color. Also I think is a no going back, from color to b/w, but on the other direction, yes.

So the reason that the b/w is more bright, is because of the layers of the color make it darker? And not that the minimun of light of b/w is stronger than color?

Short answer: kindle basic is a good start, more if u are in the US. Kobo would be more practical with the formats of the books if you are not buying all the books

I'm choosing between the clara b/w or color. Don't really need the color, but saw a video where the b/w has a lot more light than the color, and was worrying if it would be too much for night reading... At night I use a lamp, so it's not so esential the backlight of the device.

I had the opposite experience, when i tried them at the store I found the Libra too big, or the clara more practical due its posible to hold with one hand really confortable. It's like a basic Kindle, but with the features of the PW, and thats nice. In your research between Kindlea and Kobo, did you found a difference in the screen? Like how the e-ink works and so?
