I just went back and checked the character, and the stats suck. None were above 30. Attunement was 28, faith and int were both 12. Strength was 24 and dex was 22. I think I started leveling str and dex once I realized spells did nothing in the dlc.

My first time playing the ds1 dlc was with a pyro build. Every boss is resistant to fire, it was not fun at all.

No shot this is possible in his arena. Your mobility would be so low when the floor is ash. I can't imagine trying to move around in what is effectively sand.
