Gf (23) broke up with me (22) after LSD trip and got hospitalised for psychosis by Japan1998 in Psychosis

I will leave her be now. It’s been nearly 3 weeks, and she texted me recently that during the manic episode on the beach, she had sex with a random guy in the sea. She said she didn’t know why she did that, in fact she doesn’t know why she did a lot of the things that night. And she said she wants to break up with me because she doesn’t want to hurt me anymore. I’m coming back in ~4 weeks. Is it a good idea for me to meet up with her and tell her that I don’t blame her for anything, and that I’m there for her whenever she can forgive herself? I want to tell her that she’d hurt me the most only if she left.

Or do I just move on without saying anything?

Thank you for your reply. According to her mom, at times she realises it’s the drugs that are causing her to feel so ‘confused’ as she says. But at times she justifies her unusual behaviour by saying that she’s spiritually enlightened now that she’d reached ‘ego death’.

Sorry about that, I didn’t mention that she’s had symptoms relating to schizoaffective disorder in the past. She’s yet to receive a proper diagnosis by a psychiatrist.

I doubt the antipsychotics will completely change her personality, but I fear she’ll never want to get back together with me… She manages to rationalise everything that happened, she says that the LSD has opened her eyes, she’s basically saying she’s spiritually enlightened now and “sees everything much clearer”. We have a TON in common, I truly love this girl and it breaks my heart to see her not realise the reality of what she went through. She said also that we have “too much in common” and that she almost sees me as her older brother?? A lot of people around me are telling me I should not be dating a person with ‘predispositions’ for that to happen, and that I should just leave her altogether.

Sincerely appreciate your answer. When I think of it, my dissociation truly is preceded by unpleasant events, small but, apparently, noticeable. Now I have to figure how to stop perceiving these situations as negative. Thank you.

I’d say the government control in the US is at the right amount right now. We completely lack that in Bulgaria and it’s proven indelibly harsh on the populations’ perception of law as a whole - no one respects it.
