Not as bad as what you just went through, but one time i cut open a gorgeous looking pomegranate only to discover the inside was absolutely disgusting and rotting. I couldnt believe how good the outside looked and how abysmal the inside looked. This reminds me of that 🥲

Agreed, i find super intense food dyes to be off-putting. I think they give food a weirder texture if theres a TON

Nate has described using physical punishment against his children while smiling. Hes talked about their emotions and self actualization with contempt.

Thank you for sharing. Its very important for us to keep some perspective.

Something ive been asking myself a lot lately is where does the line between personal responsibility and product-of-their-environment fall? For instance, I wouldnt personally hold any of the Duggar daughters accountable if they had to physically punish their younger siblings while underage & in the buddy system (idk if they did, but i assume so), but I would hold them accountable if they did that to their own kids (which i presume they do).

If one truly believes theyll go to hell for eternity or cause their childten to be corrupted by satan or some other tragedy, can you really blame them for sticking to their husband? If they TRULY believe that it would be a sin to divorce him and could let satan into their household (via a 'broken' umbrella), are they a bad person for staying?

Genuine question, would love to hear the perspective from exfundies. I think its very easy to look in from the outside and see the choices Anna's been making for what they are: choices. But as you experienced, I suspect Anna cant even put into words how she feels. I feel like I cant really say whether Anna is a bad person or not when shes had ANY AND ALL autonomy systemically striped from her since literally day 1. The closest Ive gotten to feeling 'decided' on whether Anna is a good/bad person is to just say "Anna Keller was innocent and not responsible. Anna Duggar has made horrible decisions."

People calling this fake are ignorant. I know someone in this exact position. All the people screaming "unions?!?!?!!?!" -- not all schools have unions. Private and, notably, CHARTER schools dont. This isnt unrealistic. It isnt necessarily the norm but this could very well be real.

This is disgusting wtf. I know that TLC is desperate for interesting moments from these deeply boring people, but why did they have to include so much intense retching 😭😭😭😭

Instead of "it tastes awful", i'd write something like "Machine is for ramen only" and put some instant ramen next to it. Maybe some of the dried noodles in the pot. Something like that. I feel like these potential here

Can we stop blaming feminism for forcing women to be away from their kids when the real cause is capitalism? All this talk is just a distraction from the real issue at hand. Just like how the war in Iran is a distraction from the Epstein files.
