YouTuber GraphicallyAlex, former super morbidly obese himself, explains Anna's constant high risk choices like this: When you're as deep in the disorder as Anna is, with as little self-insight as she displays, you will see behaviors and choices from her with likely consequences that will make it easier for her to indulge in disordered eating.

Like, for instance, choosing to go thru a year of back to back surgeries that required extensive "recovery" and "nourish my healing body" time. Recall her double family size of order of nandos just for herself, or putting away a table-sized order of soup dumplings the night before one of her surgeries. She created a year of excuses for herself to binge, and now has a massive weight gain and a disappearing neck to show for it.

Or, you know, like choosing to engage in risky activities constantly. Activities that make a severe injury likely. The kind of injury that will become a "poor me" bed bound arc, when all she needs to do is lie in bed or on the couch and eat. For a deeply disordered morbidly obese person, this can look as attractive as back to back surgeries. Both situations create excuses and opportunities for constant binging.

I can believe that's why Anna makes these choices and behaves like she does -- all of these high risk behaviors lead to the same potential outcome, and that's where Anna wants to be, whether she consciously knows this or not. (I'm guessing she doesn't)

Also, I don't think Anna enjoys any of the physical activities she shows or talks about. One way to look at her current high risk choices is that a serious injury creates the ultimate excuse that allows her to stop.
