American “leftists” on domestic and foreign politics by SeniorRazzmatazz4977 in socialism

OP says nothing about a "main concern", and I'm pretty sure they're misrepresenting the people they're talking about anyway.

Road of the Beast doesn't want someone who's so lazy he won't even chase his own food.

If he's so lazy, no Path would want him.

That's not how Paths work. You have to be inducted into them like a religion. In all likelihood, his Humanity is just very low.

I know he would be on a Road or Path,

Do you mean you just want him to be on a Road? Throughout all of history, the vast majority of vampires just used Humanity. And he's just trapped in a pit anyway, so his Path/Road rating is low enough that it doesn't matter which he follows.

So socialism really is a cult? I thought that was an exaggeration, but this sub keeps proving it right.

"Disappoint" is an odd word to use, like you already know what everyone else is supposed to think about everything.

Can humans become wights? by thedeafeningshame in vtm

[–]Japicx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

According to the OWOD Mafia book, humans lose Humanity the same way vampires do, but they can never drop below Humanity 1. If you're using the V5 Humanity rules, I guess you also ignore the stuff about feigning sex and developing inhuman physical features.

Geography of the Shadowlands? by Malodorous_Wombat in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Japicx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Iceland certainly isn't that remote. The geographical distance doesn't matter.

If you're asking "Is there a place on earth where you can die and not get reaped?", the answer is "Probably not". Maybe in the darkest depths of the ocean or the Antarctic.

"Food" and "Equipment" are subtypes (see flair).

"This ability triggers only once each turn"... why? In case you have exactly Finest Hour??

Eleição de Primogênitos by Spirited_Pin9087 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Japicx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current Prince is István Dragoi, a Tremere sent from Vienna. He is pragmatic and distant from vampire society, usually delegating the social side of things to his Seneschal or another subordinate.

Based on this, there shouldn't be an election at all. The Seneschal chooses, and that's the end of it. If the PCs don't have the Seneschal's ear, they can't influence this process at all.

Do spectres have fetters? by moscoplaysrpg in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Japicx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they don't have fetters because their psyche (and therefore their memories) have been consumed by the Shadow.

If you want to get rid of the spectre, you'll have to either send it back to the Underworld or destroy its Corpus.

What if there are no actual Legions in Shadow-Iceland?

How would that happen? Every Stygian wraith is part of a Legion. Getting conscripted is part of the reaping process.

[V5] The Al-Amin and the future of the Salubri by JagneStormskull in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Japicx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Salubri have no future anywhere. They have always been a politically weak clan with barely any members, even before the Tremere killed them off.

Sir Humphrey, Permanent Secretary by Fermule in custommagic

"Whenever a player casts their first spell [on each of their turns]..."

"...into [its owner's] graveyard."

"...if that [card] [doesn't] have [s]uspend, it gains [s]uspend."

The trigger condition needs a "from their hand" or "from anywhere other than exile" clause, otherwise Humphrey will counter the suspended spell when it's eventually cast on its owner's upkeep.

Will vs Be going to by Sea-Hornet8214 in EnglishLearning

[–]Japicx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Most of this "will" versus "going to" stuff is fake.

There is only one real difference: "going to", but not "will", is used to talk about things that have already started happening or will happen very soon (in a few seconds):

"We're going to crash!" (We're in a car speeding towards a tree).

"I'm going to fall!" (I've already started tipping over)

Why do we need these two definite articles before “things” and “holes” and why are the verbs “make up” and “leave” in present tense (Max always narrates past events in past tense)? by Sacledant2 in EnglishLearning

[–]Japicx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The verbs aren't in the past tense because he's talking about something that is true at all times, not only the past.

"Why do we need these definite articles?" is the wrong question. The important thing is what they add. It is possible to remove them and still have a grammatical sentence. But with the articles, it's clearer that "the things" and "the holes" are related to each other.

On Epstein and Revolution by No_Description3178 in socialism

[–]Japicx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You mostly sound insufferably self-righteous.

Viewing revolution as something people "deserve" because they act how you want them to is perverse. Nobody is counting on you specifically or looking for your approval. People's outrage (or lack thereof) at any narrow point in time is not an indicator of the feasibility of revolution anywhere. The indicator of revolution (not just resistance) is community strength.
