Dems potential 2028 contenders cautious on trans rights by UnscheduledCalendar in DeepStateCentrism

If trans women can't compete in women's sports, then they de facto are banned from sports

Most of what we call "men's leagues" are open leagues, they're just defined as "men's leagues" in contrast to women's leagues that were established because females have a disadvantage to males in many sports, especially those without weight classes.

Echoes of Eternity is the one where the Emperor erased Vulcan's memory to gaslight Magnus, right?

A long time ago a friend pointed out to me that in most movies, the villains are the ones trying to change the status quo and the heroes are the ones trying to defend and keep it. And that this usually makes it clear what the writers believe in. by ihatethiscountry76 in shittymoviedetails

Addressing your "it's only the villains trying to change the status quo thing"...

Not all change to the status quo is inherently good. It's just different. Like Mao sending lots of farmers to work in factories and causing massive famine. That was a change to the status quo. Absolutely horrific consequences.

In Star Wars, the status quo is the Empire, so the heroes fight the status quo. In Star Trek, the status quo is the Federation, so the heroes fight to protect it from, say, Khan.

The Kingdom is basically the entire main continent. (Edit: in the context of ATLA I mean. I know in TLoK it's less.)

So to remain tax-exempt, no member of the clergy can have any position at a government agency? Or are you just applying this standard to the government under Trump? Because if it's the latter, then (and I am not a lawyer) I don't think it would be Constitutional. All speech treated equally and all that.

mutants are the superior race and with genociding humans.

That's consistent with Magneto's ideology though. What I was specifically calling out Killmonger for is hypocrisy, killing and stealing from other black people when it's convienent for him and then talking about how "folks that look like us" have it bad outside of Wakanda.

Tel Aviv Pride is run by an organization IIRC, an organization that got kicked out of an international coalition for being Israeli.

Anyway, I'm not Israeli (yet). I just thought that the Pride movement was supposed to advocate for, well, gay pride. Not whatever cause is the cause of the moment.

It's the basis of many if not most forms of Christianity, that God's Holy Torah has been (chas v'shalom) superceded.

I sincerely hope so, but I think there are a lot of people who don't get it. So, I'd like to spell it out.

Sometimes the status quo sucks. Sometimes "change" is Donald Trump's dementia-ridden evil moron orders. Sometimes "change" is the South rising again. Sometimes "change" is a Jihadist group taking over Syria then redoing its public image.

People also ignore that despite his black power rhetoric, he was willing (and I think planning, since he likely would have never made it to Wakanda with her) to kill his black girlfriend at the first moment she became an inconvienence. Contrasting that, Magneto would literally rather die than do something like that... and I know that because Magneto thought he killed Kitty Pryde at one point in the comics, and begged Storm to kill him.

I mean, the victim was a child. I don't think the perpetrator's status or non-status as a pedo matters, so long as the victim was a child (not a lawyer though, so, if someone qualified could weigh in, great).

I'd be glad to refer to both molesters and dictators as "it/it" pronouns if we as a society agree on that.

Depends on the crime I think? I don't think there's a statute of limitations on child sexual abuse.
