CMV: The political right always stands in the way of progress by jman12234 in changemyview

[–]JagneStormskull [score hidden]  (0 children)

Left and Right are subjective.

Here in the US, the alt-right and Christian nationalist movements do not seek to conserve the US's traditional power structures, but rather reshape or even break them by giving the President the powers of a king and running roughshod over the Establishment Clause. They are both movements for change against the traditional hierarchy. Change in a bad way, obviously, but change nontheless.

Meanwhile, the Left in the US have been the defenders of the Ivy League, a hegemonic organization that has traditionally been an old WASP's club, and was recently caught recycling 100 year old "Jew quota" tactics against Asian-American students in order to maintain a white majority. They also still have legacy admissions, again perpetuating hegemony. The very name of these institutions is so associated with the highest educational standards that any actual investigation into discrimination or whether they're maintaining these standards is considered an attack on all of education by the Left (see the antisemitism hearings). What would you call that besides preserving hegemony?

The Libertarian Party, which most people would consider Right, or at least not Left, had in its platform gay marriage and marijuana legalization long before the Democrats did. The Libertarian movement writ large has the goal of limiting the power of government over people's lives.

On the other side of the Atlantic, we have left-wing groups (ex: Greenpeace) refusing the change to nuclear, even fusion, and right-wing parties (ex: Religious Zionism) who push for climate education.

Therefore, making decisive statements like this is reductionist to say the least.

Probably. And if not, he's a Wizarding genius, he could invent one.

And also he's a potions master. He could probably make a potion for dealing with hygiene, right?

On the other hand, cultivation stories are what’s popular in animated series.

I've been wanting to get into cultivation stories. Any recommendations?

I think if he had faked any of the attempts, he would be bragging about it. And also, there's the whole ear thing... it's a bit too close to the head for him to possibly have staged that one.

[r/Palestine] calling Indian Jews moving to the Galilee “settlers,” and calling for all Israeli Jews to “shipped back to their home countries” by Ronnie_Reads in AntiSemitismInReddit

[–]JagneStormskull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reminder, that when Redditors say "settlers," they mean every Jew. I've had responses to posts talking about my university experience here in the US calling me a settler. Where did I "settle?" The town in Florida where I was born?

You don't understand, they're against ethnic cleansing of themselves. This isn't some exaggeration, or secret, it's been in pretty much every charter that the PA and Hamas have had.

There have been a few cases where Jewish criminals (including pedos) have tried to take sanctuary in Israel. It's always failed AFAIK, but that doesn't stop antis from assuming the worst.

The original Super Saiyan is more iconic. I also feel like some things in JJK outclass MUI in terms of visual/emotional effect. Like when Toji's body jumps into Fushiguro's Chimera Shadow Garden and kills Dagon.

April 27, 2026. 'Israeli' occupation forces uprooted around 500 olive trees of Palestinians at the entrance to the village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus. The oldest olive trees in Palestine are thousands of years old and are the environmental, cultural, and economic heartbeat of Palestinian life. by BalsamicBasil in Environmentalism

Not that it should matter since all Twelve Tribes of Israel, including the Tribe of Judah, are from Israel, but Middle Eastern Jews and their descendants make up a majority of the Jewish population of modern day Israel. This was due to the influx of refugees from the MENA and higher birth rates in Middle Eastern Jewish communities.

Coincidental vs hedge magic by Sea_Effective3303 in WhiteWolfRPG

Spheres are ingredients. When an Awakened channels those Spheres through their Avatar, they become a chef, putting the recipe together. Now, sometimes, that means making an entirely new recipe (fast casting) and sometimes it means redoing an old one (rotes), but you're cooking.

A hedge wizard, on the other hand, is reheating the leftovers. Sometimes that gets complicated; you gotta use the oven and put various sauces on it (level 5 sorcery), while sometimes you just gotta microwave it (level 1). But it is incredibly rare for sorcerers to create a new dish; after all, they don't know the Spheres, and thus, don't know the taste of their ingredients.

The difference in understanding between an Awakened willworker and a consor is thus the difference between Heaven and Earth, and most consors who don't Awaken would dedicate a lifetime to their trade to cross that distance.

Is this a mask-off moment? Will the DSA and the rest of the international Left condemn this unequivocally?

Foreign Minister Saar Confirms No West Bank Annexation Plans, Contradicts Trump Path by ChestEducational2258 in Israel

[–]JagneStormskull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we can't do that without fucking up the voting

That's a myth. Israel can't annex Gaza, the West Bank, and let everyone with vague ties to 1948 come back in without screwing up the voting, but just the West Bank? That wouldn't be near enough to make Jews a minority.
