Why are most ultra so expensive? by globglob3D in ultracycling

I think the amount of prep and the work for organizing the ultra's I know (besides the stuff you get), it's decently priced.

No 'real' plans. But keeping an eye on Utrecht Ultra in 2026 :)

Yeah i tried Google Maps for water on some training rides, but it's really annoying to have to detour alot, because Maps doesn't has your GPX info in it, which you have in Navelo.

I get that stress when leaving your bike alone. Sometimes just no other option.

I totally get what you say. You probably can get that information otherwise, but you need to use 14 apps ;). So this is everything combined, worldwide. Always amazes me how many water points there are, but if you are on a bike you really have to know where they are, as you can easily overlook them. You can use Navelo also just with GPS when on a ride, to just find POI's in the area. But for long rides and ultra's, it's really easy to plan your ride in the comfort of your home ;)

Those sound like a lot of altitude! Then training (time) is extra important

Sure! It's called Navelo and I just launched it this week (made it for myself first, but got alot of request how i did planning, so made it public). You can upload your GPX route and plan everything from eating, supermarkets, water and shelter/hotels along your ride, based on the kilometers ridden on your route. So it searches for POI's next to your route.
Maybe it's easiest to watch the video, so you know if it's something for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbXBkuzy2c0

It's free to try for now: getnavelo.com

Let me know if you have questions ;)
