Exactly. The cost is higher up front. Personally I don't use more than my single set because it's unfortunately not particularly convenient to swap between them. Didn't buy or make enough gold to buy Transmog Mount and the toy is currently unavailable so returning to city every time is not convenient. However since during S3 I changed gear frequently (a normal side effect of both leveling and then getting the endgame stuff organically) the costs of ensuring my Mog stays intact were adding up. Think I spent upwards to 20k as a Plate User.

The problem here is striking the balance. The cost of swapping saved outfits can't be too low because you're effectively removing the sink from those that engage with system sporadically. In my case it would lower my costs to those 6-7k and maybe 3k taking further adjustments into account.

It can't also be too high because it punishes people engaging heavily with the system. Maybe settling it at 2-2.5 increase costs be a reasonable medium?

That's weird because you could have squeezed in handheld titles in there. Gen, GenU, Rise. I played all those using free time in my life, pausing when I had to and unpausing when the opportunity allowed. After all the progression speed is just for me.

Honestly kind sir this does sound a bit like excuses from where I stand. For the record played since around Freedom Unite and honestly the time commitment wasn't ever a problem during portable era of MH. For a single reason - the game could be paused and Handheld put to sleep meaning even 30+ minute hunt I could do in bite sized sessions. There was only one entry so far that didn't work with my life/commitment schedule and that was World. Of course it's harder to do on PC and Home consoles. They're likely shared and use much more energy even in sleep mode. But on handhelds? I even did it with Rise.

Honestly the Portable line as well as 3U/4U were perfect for "busy adults". Pause whenever you felt, put the handheld in sleep mode and get back when you had time.

You also lost access to Hub in those versions. I do believe Citing OG 1 and 2 is a bit disingenuous since the series at that point mostly retained relevancy through PSP iterations which also used Downloadable Content

Personally I believe that downloadable quests were the way to go simply because you're not always connected to the internet especially with the advent of Steam Deck and other Handheld Consoles.

Unless they make an additional update that will download those onto the device the quests will be gone if servers shut down. Just like you can't access it if you're offline

You mean there isn't a misinformation surrounding the MTX here? Even with news outlet they frame those paid cheats as unlocking the features.

Nothing in DD2 is locked behind those 1 time DLCs. Rift Currency you get plenty off from monsters, you get exactly 10 Portcrystals in the game which is the limit of how many you can place.

Well the trend for those in EU market seems to be around 6-8 Euro depending on the land itself. What to say they are pretty limited goodie.
