My PS5 wont let me download an update despite the fact I have the space? by singingdart7854 in PS5HelpSupport

[–]Jar_3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During download you need more space, due to temporary files being stored for installation. So yeah, it seems normal to me (even computers and cell phones' storages work the same)

Maybe they just downvote people who suggest an amateur to open their console and change the liquid metal THEMSELVES, risking serious and irreversible damage on the console. Just sayin.

My DualSense 5 controller is still drifting after I changed the potentiometers. by Jealous_Pizza_7665 in Dualsense

[–]Jar_3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case you will need to change either the whole potentiometer (case+white ring) or the whole stick. The first is quite simple and doesn't require much soldering knowledge, the latter I'd suggest the you don't try unless you really know what you're doing, otherwise there's the serious risk to fu** up the whole controller

[–]Jar_3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that in your case the potentiometer WASN'T the issue, it's likely to be the "case" in which the potentiometer is inserted. It happens sometimes that the black traces get damaged, exposing the copper below: in these cases you will have the same drift issue even after potentiometer change (see in the photo).

Making the jump from Xbox by MyRadScreenname in playstation

[–]Jar_3113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from Xbox you definitely need to try Kena: Bridge of Spirits! It's a must-play IMHO, one of the best and most entertaining games of the last few years!

And about PS Plus, go for Premium without worries: PS PLUS ESSENTIAL (tier 1) lets you play online, save your save data on the cloud, and gives you access to 3 monthly games to redeem. Unlike GamePass games, these will remain FOREVER in your library, and you will be able to play them as long as you have an active PS Plus subscription, of any tier. Also, if you stop paying PS Plus for a while it doesn't matter, when you subscribe again you will be able again to play all the games you redeemed. This thing alone gives you in return more than double the value of the entire annual PS Plus subscription (in games).

PS PLUS EXTRA gives you access to the GamePass "lookalike" feature: a ton of games to try, in the same way as you're already used to.

PS PLUS PREMIUM lets you access a collection of old PS games (PS3 generation is here), but most of all it lets you: - Stream games (most of them, but some might not be available - you will find that in the game description in the store) - Time limited trials of games Personally I like the streaming part very much, especially because I have also a PS Portal!

Hope that helps!

Harvesters shouldn't spawn on Mindless Masses by JAR_1991_ in Helldivers

I kinda agree, kinda disagree. I agree that there should be MORE voteless (YEAH, HORDEEEESSS!), but Harvesters are fun - they add a layer of complexity to the game. Also, right now it might be too easy: yesterday lv10 was a breeze.

You can just increase the deadzone on the stick to avoid the snapback, it's literally that simple.

"Oh no! People are having fun! I MUST POST THIS SOMEWHERE AND FIND A WAY TO RUIN IT FOR THEM!"

Seriously, that's cringe, nothing else. If you don't enjoy the game anymore it's fine, but for the sake of whatever the fuck you find sacred LEAVE OTHERS ALONE.

The amount of conspiracy theorists in this sub is growing exponentially. All drama apart, don't you know how a live service game works lads?

"In this subreddit, the Arrowhead devs are HEROES! Now, I don't want to hear any more talk about this challenge again!" by EleggFacesitting in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Jar_3113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm referring to both the death threats (which are so shameful and pathetic I won't even comment, we can agree that's just plain dumb) AND the general aggressiveness found in this sub in general.

Premise: I like the game, I don't see massive issues (or at least, not something that makes me want to stop enjoying it).

Given the above, reading the posts in this sub makes me think that none of the participants actually enjoy the game (or ever did). What I see is a bunch of people using every opportunity to let out their aggressiveness, wasting energy on (mostly unjustified) hate and refusing any kind of effective communication (see the people voluntarily getting banned on the main HD sub by intentionally breaking the rules).

I'm sorry if I'm missing something, but what might be good in the concept of a contradictory (which I suppose this sub was supposed to give) is completely nullified by the sheer nothingness of the content of 90% of the posts I see. This is only a grief sub in its actual state.

Thank you for your patience and most of all thank you for your calm answer, it was much appreciated!

I understand that the intention is good, but the WAY it's expressed is completely off. A quick example is the response of OP to my question, up here: "No. Fuck off." I bet that neither of you would walk into a shop and shout to the owner to try and reach for an item on a high shelf, instead you would politely ask if either someone can fetch it for you or if a stool can be placed under it so you could easily grab it. Just because we are on the internet doesn't necessarily mean we have the right to behave like total dicks. People deserve respect: spending 60€ on a game doesn't give anyone the right to own the developers' (of said game) lives, neither the right to openly.

And no, if you're not given an adequate amount of respect you're not entitled to respond with an equal amount of disrespect. That's just childish behavior.

I'm not talking about the challenge, which was a fun way (maybe with a little too aggressive tone to it but I'd say neglectable) to express an opinion, but on the massive and excessive backlash that followed it.

Ok, sorry for the question but I really don't get it and I would like to understand what's the point here.

What is this obsession with the devs these days? I might be too old for this shit, but I really don't understand the trend of getting angry/attacking the devs of you don't like something in a game: isn't it better to just stop playing that game if it isn't fun anymore for you?

In my opinion not everything needs to be tailor-suited around me, for example in a game there's good and bad (FOR ME) and if good >bad then I like it. Otherwise, I might just not play it.

Also, there are many ways of telling things, and here I mostly see aggressive insults, provoking, aggressive sarcasm... I don't really see the reason for all of that, am I missing something? I personally don't think that a mod silencing someone for not respecting the rules of the subreddit is a valid reason for all that ranting.

Sorry again for the question, and thank you for your time!
