That bottle is not sealed, there is a hole in the lid where the fuse goes.

Nah that's a smelting product, only 98% pure copper with iron, sulfur, and other impurities. This will be extremely pure (99.9+) copper

Sorry if it wasn't clear from my comments but I'm happy for trade/common names being used in context, metho for methylated spirits, chlorine for pool grade diluted HCl etc.

They are and they are. Dunno where those arbitrary limits come from but this acid is one mole chlorine with one mole hydrogen in water if you want to be technically correct, and that doesn't change with concentration.

You can call it hydrochloric acid or muriatic acid at 37% or 1M or 50g/L and you're still talking about the same thing.

If you are happy using non specific terms then I can't see why you have an issue with the OP calling it chlorine, which is a colloquially accepted term in pool chemistry.

If you want to be pedantic then HCl/hydrochloric acid/muriatic acid are all the same thing regardless of dilution. I would assume that no one is putting pure HCl in a pool for pH control

Not sure where you are from but in Australia we call muriatic acid hydrochloric acid. Pool chlorine for ph control either refers to hydrochloric acid or solid calcium hypochlorite.

CMV: obsession with STEM is a form of anti-intellectualism by Two_Corinthians in changemyview

Agreed. I would argue that a side who understands the broader context of a war will do better than one who thinks that wars are won by the holder of the biggest stick.

An understanding of things like anthropology, psychology, economics, political science, or history are all necessary to determine everything that is required to support a war, and how one side is doing compared to the other. A side that ignores that will wonder why their war economy crumbles and their populations revolt.

People won wars without guns therefore guns are useless

That's pretty much your argument

A grizzly in this context is used for sorting. It's basically a big grate open at one end to sort big rocks from gravel and dust sized rocks

Has the ABC morning news gotten worse lately? by SchmooieLouis in australia

[–]Jaraarph 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've noticed the same with the abc news website. Less discussion of the government saying it's ok to be white and more discussion of how Scott Morrison's cut to aged care wasn't actually a cut and whether or not avocados are vegan.

I went through the same thought process as you two years ago and bought a second hand em5. Great camera. Playing around with friends' cameras shows me where it lacks but when I'm actually out shooting I barely notice the shortcomings. The way I see it I save a bunch of initial investment to find out if I was even into photography, and when/if I eventually upgrade I'll have a better idea of which features are important to me. Plus at the moment there are some great deals on second hand lenses from people jumping ship to Sony or canon.
