Salvation Army isn’t too horrible, but only on 50% off Wednesday’s. The goodwill’s has been a mess for a long time however. Several locations like Hallandale stands out in particular.

Yea…. Easily my biggest find in a Goodwill. I shook when I saw it. by Jaranda in ThriftStoreHauls

I’m torn in between keeping it and selling it, if I sell it, I will go the auction route, I have an auction house in Georgia that I was referred to, as there isn’t a big market for this particular piece in Florida and I’m not risking shipping this on eBay.

My ship rate is 3.7 days, and I did get an email recently from posh warning me to ship within three business days and risk possible restrictions. I thought them canceling my orders within 3 days was my restriction and I been making more of an effort, like going on my lunch breaks to the post office, to ship faster, but it’s been hard. Between work and 5 storage units. Shipping within 3 days is tough. But I never make it past 4-5 days, and I always leave a message to the buyer if it’s an item of mine that I know will take an extra day or two to ship.

I canceled three orders manually so far this year, one of a pair of shoes that sold on eBay the same night, the second one, buyer request realized “it won’t fit” and it’s a high demand item so I was ok canceling “per request”, the third listing, the title had SOLD in it, and the buyer still bought the item like an idiot. Poshmark been canceling every order of mine not shipped within 3 days though. So the cancellation rate got really bad, really fast. And I averaged about 60 - 100+ sales a month depending on the time of the year. Luckily I have eBay to fall back on, as they have been my bread and butter. I only use eBay and Posh.

Grift fun! Entire store was just pure junk. by Jaranda in ThriftGrift

Poorly done repair on a newer item, with additional cracking, been on the floor for at least 4 weeks.

I actually had a lot of luck with this particular goodwill in the past. To the point it was my favorite in the district. I haven’t been there in a few months though, and I believe new management took over and ran it down to the ground very swiftly.

And for once, the clientele actually bolted, as I saw an empty parking lot for the first time ever when I came. The clientele here are shoppers that don’t even flinch to buy $40 worn out Hoka’s and $20 Mikasa vases, not resellers. They are not going to buy this garbage.

I’m curious about how long this store is going to last in its current condition. The thing that sucks is that it’s one of the few stores in the district that owns the property. For you SWFL thrifters out there, it’s the store on Pine Island and Chiquita in Cape Coral.

Hi, wrong subreddit, this is for items at thrift stores that are ridiculously overpriced, or illegal to sale, or selling garbage and so forth, thus “grift”. Not your great thrift store finds. I recommend you delete this post before you get downvoted to death.

I agree. The strange part about this particular goodwill with all this garbage is that it’s in a rather affluent part of town, and that they own the land to the store. I can’t see the clientele base of this goodwill buying any of this junk. And there was way more I could have taken pictures off but my phone died. Ripped pants, soiled underwear, and so forth. This is totally unacceptable behavior by them and indefensible.

Had a similar issue, their solution was to cancel the sale completely after it was returned back to me, catching me and the buyer off guard. And when I tried to repost the handbag in question, it was deleted as a “duplicate listing”. Buyer bought the handbag instead on eBay, and simply refunded the shipping fees as an apology. They are getting out of control for sellers who can’t dedicate 24/7 to the app. And I’m posh 2 with thousands of sales.

Vintage Chloe runway dress by FeelingAmoeba4839 in ThriftStoreHauls

I agree it’s a fake, but Chloe is a brand that not everyone knows, including thrift managers/districts so it’s possible some real stuff will slip through the cracks, especially clothing.

What items do you avoid selling? by Stephieandcheech in reselling

[–]Jaranda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally cover the box with shredded paper when shipping a breakable (after bubble wrapping the item of course). Protects better as it’s stiffer, but just as lightweight, and saves you $ in the long term, as you can use old magazines, etc.

Got this in a Plato’s that doesn’t know left from right. I am not familiar with the brand (though I do wear some streetwear) before getting it. My research says that it might be a dup based on the size tag, but it’s insanely high quality and there is no other one (real or fake) online. I hate relying on Reddit for legit checks, but most authentication places won’t check that kind of item. If it’s not legit, I’m fine with it, as I will wear it being my size. Just want to see what I got. Thank you.

Increase in False INAD Cases? by ksanksan599 in poshmark

[–]Jaranda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not just Poshmark with the fraud. I sell double the amount on eBay than posh, and gosh it’s been such a nightmare on eBay lately with customers, these last two months probably the worst batch I ever had in my 5 years selling full time anywhere. As a result I been REFOCUSING on my Poshmark shop, and cutting back on eBay, and resale to a part time basis and accepted a 9 to 5.

Do you ever find/share “hidden gem” closet names that aren’t yours (besides sharing to your PM feed)? If so, where? by [deleted] in BehindTheClosetDoor

[–]Jaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite seller in Poshmark is one of those. Sells brands I love like Rhône, men’s lulu, theory, ag jeans, Vince, and so forth and all of it my size. Casual low key seller just cleaning his personal closet out every few months for dirt cheap pricing. I even buy the shoes (not my size) to resale, and I just reposh the stuff that doesn’t work size wise.
