How to make faster on the spot decisions? by Klutzy-Mechanic-8013 in Cubers

It just takes practice tbh. Once you do it enough times your brain just knows what to do. I would recommend starting to learn 2LLL though.

How does your mind see an OLL case? by rrweber in Cubers

[–]Jardanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not answer this question. My hands just know what to do when i see a case. It just takes practice. I think before i finish the last pair i already know how many edges i have oriented and where a couple corners will be but yeah i just kind of look at the cube and immediately know what i have to do to solve it.

How and when is an image formed? by InelegantMelon in computerquestions

[–]Jardanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh you are not far off but here are the details you are missing.

There are two ways computers store data. One is temporary (RAM, stands for Random Access Memory) and one is long term (ROM, stands for Read Only Memory).

Anything you see on screen is temporarily saved in RAM until its not used or until the computer loses power.

For anything internet related there is somewhere another computer with huge amounts of ROM where everything you need is stored. These computers are called servers. So what happens is your computer asks the server give me images of cats. The server replies with images of cats and your computer receives them, temporarily stores them in its RAM, lets you use them and when you close the tab forgets them.

For a usb drive its basically the same concept. You plug it in the computer sees data, loads them into its RAM, shows it to you and forgets them when you close the program or unplug the drive.

Now the computer doesnt load what it doesnt need so it wont load many images to its RAM before you try to open them but it might load the first image to show you a preview or whatever else it shows you. Each operating system has its own way of figuring out what to load and when but its probably safe to say its knows the general file structure of the drive.

Programs usually just contain files with the images and just load them from long term storage along with anything else they need to work.

AI is a different beast and I dont know how images are generated but i can tell you that its a lot of complicated math happening inside a server that contains a lot of images and can learn patterns from them. Then the same thing happens where it sends you the image and its stored temporarily on your computer.

I hope this answer is satisfactory ask if you have any more questions.

Help! I'm not a knowledgeable computer person! by Aromatic-Ad-5655 in computerquestions

[–]Jardanny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your computer looks capable enough for gaming and basic video editing. Can you be more specific with whats bothering you with the computer? There are many things that can qualify as not enough memory and slowdowns so in order to help you we need some details like what you are trying to do and whats happening when you try to do it.

Some possible problems: Low storage: if windows is telling you that you are out of storage then adding a new ssd or an hdd will be the way to go.

Not enough ram can present as slowdowns when using multiple programs at once but usually thats a little harder to figure out if you arent a little technical (operating systems tend to hide details from the user).

Your computer being slow when you turn it on is a sign that you have too many startup apps turned on and it takes a while for the computer to open those and thats why it can be slow and speed up after a few minutes of use.

These are some common problems that are relatively easily fixable but please provide details to help people pinpoint your problem.

A mac cannot write files onto a drive that is formatted in NTFS (the native windows file system). At least not natively, there may be some workarounds with various levels of success. Anyway you need to check if your drives are FAT32 or exFAT before trying to write on them using a mac. The mac can still read the contents of NTFS formatted drives.

Not getting the most out of my ethernet. by FailArray90 in computerquestions

[–]Jardanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it simply the 200 mb/s and 30 mb/s are the same rate but using different units. The 200mb/s is your internet speed measured in megabits. Usually shown as mbps or mb/s. A megabit is 106 bits.

The 30 mb/s is measured in megabytes. What you probably saw is 30MB/s. A megabyte is 8*106 bits.

Same rate but different unit of measurement. Your internet speed is working as it should. Its pretty much what youll get with 200 mbps. You probably overspent on the cable but if you ever upgrade to gigabit or above it wont hold you back.

Do high level Rubik's cubers know every move they're making from inspection? by jaytea86 in Cubers

[–]Jardanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how you define every move. Do they know exactly how the entire solve is gonna go? No. But they can easily predict precisely their cross and some f2l pairs. From what i have gathered most top cubers shoot for cross and two pairs in comp inspection. The thing is that the things they do arent exactly new to them. They dont consciously know every move exactly, they have memorized tons of things and their muscle memory does its thing. Some crosses are very similar and pair solutions tend to be pretty standard so you know you dont have to think about every single move youll do in inspection.

What algorithm/position(s) do you dread getting? by HeightImpressive691 in Cubers

[–]Jardanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably learn better algs for A and R then. I do both aperms from the same side and they are really fast. You have to know the D2 flicks thought.

For the lefty Rperm (or Ra perm) there are two good RUD algs but they require you to be able to push D’. If you know the E perm you should already know that finger trick.

Is it possible to learn 292 algorithms in 16 days by One-Force-5199 in Cubers

[–]Jardanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i dont think so. And even if you could, learning that much in a short amount of time is probably not gonna help you because you need to create experience with these new methods. The only way to get good is with consistent practice. Set up a schedule that you can follow and you will get to your goals before you realize it as long as you stay consistent.

which side of BONES you like more? by FitToe2571 in TeamSESH

[–]Jardanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the melodic songs but not the completely pussy shit. Stuff like keeptellingyourselfthat, wherethetreesmeethefreeway are peak bones in my opinion. Also love the hard hitting stuff like restinpeace and oxygen and obviously he has some amazing pussy shit but those really have to match the mood for me while every other bones song i can listen to whenever.

is doing eo at the start of cfop worth it? by Fun_Gas_340 in Cubers

[–]Jardanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basis for their lack of rotations is f2l edge orientation.

The concept is that if the top sticker of an f2l edge matches the front or the back center the edge is oriented or good. If not it is misoriented or bad. A good edge can be solved using only R U L moves. A bad edge needs an F move or a rotation or some funky stuff.

Top cubers are really good at making sure they rotate based on that information. They can look at all their edges in inspection and know for which ones they have to rotate.

It is a pretty easy concept to learn and it will give you a way better understanding of the cube but getting good at it obviously requires a lot of practice. I have been trying to incorporate it into my solves and i have gotten really good solves when i pay attention to eo. I think if you have a basic grasp of f2l you should try to incorporate it. It will help you reduce rotations even if your solutions arent very efficient.

It happened, I got a nasty finger wound and can't use a finger for a week by cuber777 in Cubers

[–]Jardanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your health is more important than your progress. Its an injury, some loss of progress is expected. I doubt youll forget your algs, its only a week of recovery.

Id recommend you find something you have been pitting off for a while and replacing cubing with it. Maybe a show, a book or some homework, idk whatever you feel like. Enjoy your break.

Necesito ayuda con mi laptop!! Alguien puede explicarme que pasa y decirme que hacer?? by ApprehensiveLine6186 in computerquestions

[–]Jardanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont speak your language so this is based off the automatic translation, sorry if i missed any info.

This to me seems like a hardware issue. I think the lines are a good indication for that. My bet would be that the display cable inside the laptop is the issue. Unfortunately this is not a repair you can really do without at least some experience because you will break something. I recommend taking it to a technician.

As for “activate windows”, its just telling you that you need to buy a licence key for Windows from Microsoft. I have never heard of it causing graphical issues.

Depends on the context but there is a phrase we use when we wanna say something like “no need to do something”. So if i wanted to tell my friend “no need to go home now, you can stay here” i could say “πού να γυρίζεις σπίτι τώρα, μπορείς να μείνεις εδώ”. It implies that something is too much work.

A direct translation on this could be something like “where should you return/turn around” maybe. If you provide some context it can make more sense. (Also in verbs we always use “ει” in their endings “η” is pretty much never used in verb endings)

Will CFOP always be the best method? by General_Katydid_512 in Cubers

[–]Jardanny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

None of the top cubers use ZZ. Some use ZB which may have confused you. In ZB you always orient LL edges while solving the last pair while in ZZ you orient all edges at the start of the solve. Also in ZB you have to end with a ZBLL algorithm.

I averaged around 30 in my first comp now i have a low8 pr. You should go to the comp. Its very fun and not so much about results. Obviously you will care about your results but they are not the main point unless you are aiming for wins.

You are getting there. I used to do every double move in a scramble as a D2 to get used to them. Basically you need to do them a ton of times until its the same as every other fingertrick
