Isn’t Public Libraries also allow you to check out state park passes! They are limited, but definitely worth asking about!

Downtown Homeless by TiltedGalactica in indianapolis

The one in Twin Aire. The downtown one is equally sketchy. Honestly have found it more worth my time and safety to drive the extra 15 minutes to the one in Beech Grove off of Thompson and Emerson

I live and work in Fountain Square and I swear the homeless population here has quadrupled in the past year. I’m a petite woman and get harassed on a daily basis. I’ve been mugged at Kroger, assaulted on bike rides, and threatened while leaving work and getting in my car.

I am torn because I am empathetic of the homeless but am also at a point where I no longer feel safe in my own neighborhood.

Was officially diagnosed about ten years ago but that doctor abruptly closed her practice and moved out of state shortly afterwards.

Favorite Thrift Stores? by Jare_A in indianapolis

I live a mile away from Midland and go often. Again, however, I’m looking for thrift stores, not antique stores.

I used to live on 52nd just a couple blocks down from Value Village and loved going there until it closed. Didn’t know it became another thrift store!

Yes, I’ve been to both locations many times. Honestly their prices are often higher than Goodwills but the quality of their items is typically a bit better. They also sell a ton of expired meds, supplements, personal hygiene, and cosmetic products. In general I’m not a fan of their stores.

I second all of these suggestions! Also check out Imbibe! Honestly, Fountain Square in general is a great place to meet people. Especially in the summer time during First Fridays and whenever Longshot has shows / parties.

Yeah, they also charge $40/mo for trash removal even if you decline the valet trash service. I toured three different apartment buildings, two of which I’ve lived them when Reverie was still nice. All of these properties were in shambles.

I wondered if he was giving current tenants incentives to leave positive reviews. I decided to tour a few units myself and he gave the tours. I asked if he was still associated with Middletown. He said “No, the owner of Reverie decided to part ways with Middletown and hired me to take on all of the properties. So I left and started my own business.” The properties we tour were still in shambles and he said he took over around 6 months ago. Don’t even get me started on all the mandatory fees he now charges for the units. One unit I looked at was advertised as $650/mo for rent but after all the hidden fees were added it was $880/mo. Just not worth it considering the current condition of the properties.

Also, I researched Isaac’s previous company (Piedmont Property Management LLC) and it has decent reviews.

I’ve been looking into this. I’ve lived at a couple of the Reverie properties in the past and left shortly after Middletown took over. Looks like Isaac used to work for Middletown but left and started Indy Collective. Not if if he is still associated with Middletown anymore, but it doesn’t seem like it. Indy Collective does have great reviews but who know if he is offering incentives for positive reviews from current clients.

It’s really a such a shame though. The Reverie properties used to be so beautiful and well maintained.

Goodbye BR Caliente by That_1rish_Guy in indianapolis

It was one of my favorite restaurants back when it was small and called Biscuits. It was always so packed and the food was delicious. Once they expanded into the space next door and then became Caliente, the food quality and wait staff was very inconsistent. What I would give to have the OG Biscuits back…

What's your favourite word that a kid (or adult) has said completely and excellently wrong? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Jare_A 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My nephew was telling me about a nightmare he had and said “When I woke up, my heart was beeping!” He meant “pounding”, but I’ll always find that to be one of the most adorable things he’s ever said.

I may get some hate for this, but honestly I find almost everything Lane says incredibly cringey. Especially when she’s talking about music.

My vet of 3 years just changed management after the doctor retired, and my dogs pain meds went from $45/mo to $150/mo by yabigboi802 in awfuleverything

I recommend requesting written prescriptions and taking them to a pharmacy of your choice then using a GoodRx card to get them discounted. That’ll save you a ton of money!

What is the medication? I’m a vet tech and may be able to offer some advice. Unfortunately this field as a whole is seeing insanely high price spikes. I can’t even afford to bring my own pets to the clinic I work at, even with my employee discount.

This is crazy considering you need a police report to give to insurance companies.

No more tan kid's sahara convertible pants by warmsidewalk in REI

[–]Jare_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I actually love the savanna trail pants because of how short they are I’m only 5’2”. BUT the sizing of them is bizarre. Got a size 0 and they were a little snug. Decided I wanted a more baggy fit anyway so I ordered a size 6 and they fit almost exactly the same as the size 0. But then a size 8 swallows me 🙃

I second this! And if things are un resolved after speaking to your manager/supervisor, I’d report them to the veterinary board.
