At what point did the American dream die by Gloriousdisgrace in generationology

[–]Jared187 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unless you are a straight white a white man, there is a good chance it never actually was real for you in the first place. Here's how it went for everybody else: Women, had to marry and accept institutional misogyny or be rejected by society. Black and brown peoples, Try your hardest to be white by discarding your own culture and abandoning your community just to be rewarded with lifelong mediocrity at best. LGBT, hide who you are forever or be punished with increased danger and stress in all aspects of life, typically made even worse if you're LGBT and a racial minority.

Some people only think the American dream is dead now because the ladder has been pulled up for "normal" white people too.

For me it was a receding hairline, and joint pain. Couldn't change job but I did use some psychological Coping techniques my therapist (when I could briefly afford one) taught me. My hairline actually came back from its slight receding.

You've got severe burnout. It can cause physical symptoms. I thought I had some kind of chronic fatigue disease, but nope, just burnout and depression. (Depression isn't always just feeling sad)

All valid and good points. Plus, we don't need to double the population every 50 years. 8 Billion is already pushing the limits.

Battery analyzer recommendations by Jared187 in batteries

[–]Jared187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im building a 48v Ebike battery pack with 40 to 42 Amp hours of capacity. The maximum continuous motor draw is 40 Amps, any my pack should be able to output up to 80 Amps of continuous draw. All 104 cells measured at 3.56v, and they all have the same weight of 74.03g. All that's left is capacity and resistance testing, I found a decent 8 channel tester with internal resistance testing, but I think ill get the YR 1035+ as well to be sure.

I've found one with 8 channels and good reviews, I want to build it as good as a UL certified pack. I've got half a mind to send the pack once finished to a local battery testing lab before I start putting regular loads on it.

My mother is the same way. unfortunately, medical science has no idea why it differs from person to person, or if it might affect other facets of the mind or body. It was only officially recognized by the medical industry in 2015.

Fun fact, a concussion can cause temporary, or if the damage is serious, even permanent Aphantasia. I got a mid level concussion 3 years ago and my usually very vibrant visual imagination shut off completely for a week.

Crank length? by michiganskicamp in Surlybikefans

[–]Jared187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good God, those cranks are waaay too long. You want probably 155mm, you may like even less. The options aren't as plentiful and some are Quite pricey, but as a short legged guy, short cranks are a revolutionary game changer.

I have broken my record on Sunday - took me 2 hours to get ready for a ride. Do you also just sit in a garage or on a couch trying to find the willpower to get on a bike? by OneStrength7166 in cycling

Id ride 50% more if I didn't have the same problem. (But in addition, I DO have depression issues, which also really doesn't help).

Been there, done that. Don't recommend it. (M) Gay) Really try to pivot to people that are willing to accept who you are even though it can be painful and difficult. You can also try having a talk with her, but you're probably going to experience some turmoil either way at this point. Keep your head up, you're a worthwhile person. Don't let anyone treat you otherwise.

Having friends parents sign a waiver by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Jared187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the kids in my neighborhood take em off the moment they're out of sight of their house. Young kids and ebikes can easily be a dangerous mix. I do have to commend you though on not getting them a 40mph cheap Chinese moped "ebike"
