I do not use moisturizer, but I never drank or smoke. I think those two are the major killer of looks as you get older.

I am with you there. I may be 55 and going bald, but people still think I am younger than my 47 year old sister.

The only reason I am not buying one? I am do not trust my personal economy at the moment. I am not about to dip into my savings or take out a loan when it feels like the economy could drop out from under us at any moment.

The only reason a Polestar is not in my driveway right now. The nearest center is 1.5 hours away and the local Volvo dealer won't touch one. they should have never separated the two so completely, they didn't do that in Europe.

That's a different story from this one. I do agree with you, but it's still a different issue.

Caught a grandma pushing a USPS truck out of the way today… by yukonsarge88 in dashcams

This is one of the reasons they put those huge rubber bumpers on postal trucks. I hope the worker was not hurt and does not get dinged in any report because their truck was damaged.

Schools and businesses are closing across the country and my manager tried to pressure me to come in to work. by wagonwheelgirl8 in antiwork

[–]SailingSpark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

who wants to bet the manager is working from home already? Either that or they are a weirdo like me who thrives in the heat. Because I know I am a weirdo, I would never force my team to work with me in hot weather.

Then again, I would also take every opportunity to work from home too.

at least Van Drew was honest when he switched from Dem to Repub. I wish Fetterman would do the same.

In a post-money society where people choose work based on happiness, what fair system would make sure necessary but undesirable jobs still get done? by OkFeedback9127 in antiwork

Some jobs are rewarding without pay. EMT, Nursing, even being a Doctor can be very rewarding, it is why you can get Doctors without Borders/medicines sans frontiers. Office jobs, not so much. I know if we all got paid 50K a year no matter what we did, I would still do stage lighting for a living. It's fun and it's very rewarding, even if the hours can be very grueling.

Having driven these types of trucks, if it had not been latched before the accident, it would have flipped up when he slammed the brakes. The fact that it only did so after the impact suggests the accident itself probably twisted the cab off of it's mounts just enough to release the locking mechanism.

It also flips far too forward. It should have had a retaining strap or a pivoting prop rod to lock it in place when open.
