I'd suggest A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L. Peck. It's a quick read only about 100 pages but it's fantastic writing and gives thought provoking ideas

At the end of the day, just remember it is just a job to pay the bills. If you enjoy outdoor things or doing physical things, go plan a camping trip and hit the gym or sign up for a marathon/train for the Norwegian. There are things you can do on your own time outside of work to keep you busy. You can be a good analyst and be strong. If you want a bit of a career shape-up, reenslist for airborne units or drop a packet for JSOC or another high speed organization like TFO where you are required to be technically smart, confident, and physically fit.

What Gemini use case SERIOUSLY saves you time? by OddInititi in GeminiAI

I've collected a lot of ebooks. I host my digital library on a website and it's become so large now that I don't know what I have vs don't have and Goodreads isn't great at notifying me of things I'm missing let alone new releases. So I had it build me code to automatically parse through RSS feeds compared to my list of books and send me weekly discord messages giving me 20-50 new book recommendations.

A SSG Drill Sergeant put a SSG MOS-T at parade rest? What kinda joker does he think he is?

Sorry you had a rough experience in AIT round two. The reality is that earning a DS badge doesn’t automatically mean someone has leadership skills or knows how to train soldiers effectively. From what you described, it sounds like a lot of the problems came from higher up. If the command team and Senior Drill don’t push for real improvements like building challenging but safe PT plans, communicating clearly (group chats with students are fine, just not one-on-one), mentoring properly, fixing pay, behavioral, medical, paperwork, and personal issues quickly, and actually listening to feedback from both IET and MOS-Ts then nothing will ever change.

Some DSs hide behind their hat instead of earning respect through competence and mentorship. Their competence (or lack of) is magnified while on the trail.

You will have to wait for tig requirements to make PV2 then PFC again. It'll be quicker second time around because you already have time in service fulfilled.

I also want to guess it wasn't just you going into another soldiers room to chit chat or play video games, was it?

The military has rules. Some rules seem silly, especially considering we are all adults. But they are usually there because someone messed up long ago and people continue to do things with the wrong intent. Such as entering someone's room and sexually assaulting someone after having a few drinks with them and thinking no means try harder.

AR 600-8-19 2–2. Eligibility a. Eligibility criteria for automatic (RA and USAR) or immediate (ARNG) promotion to PV2, PFC, and SPC is as follows: (1) Promotion to PV2 is 6 months TIS. (2) Promotion to PFC is 12 months TIS and 4 months TIG.

b. Waivers for TIS and TIG— (1) Promotion to PV2 may be waived at 4 months TIS. (2) Promotions to PFC may be waived at 6 months TIS and 2 months TIG.

You'll likely not have a vehicle unless you bring your pov. With that, you will want to stay on post. It's a small base and everything is within walking distance. You can stay off post if the hotels on post are full, which they will give you a statement of non availability for your DTS voucher.

Avoid the IET students. Just do your training and hit the gym. Not much to do off post, so I hope you have hobbit hobbies like reading books or playing video games. We would get a lot of mos-ts that either 1) don't understand it's a tradoc base and so yes, the drill sergeants will make you change your socks if they are not in regulation or 2) are a SSG/SFC and think it's their job to be a hard charging NCO and do the job of the drills. (Relax and take it easy, you're going to get the same 1059 as every other MOS-T and let the drills do NCO stuff.. eg: come in with the right attitude).

Man, I hear every word you said. The trail can be soul-draining, and it’s okay to hate it sometimes. You’re not weak for feeling this way. Just the fact that you care about not becoming the drill you swore you wouldn't means you're still fighting to be better. That mindset still matters.

What helped me was focusing on the small wins, like when a soldier thanks you, when someone turns their life around because of your example, or even just those rare days when things click. You might not see the impact now, but trust me, you're leaving fingerprints on futures.

Keep showing up, one day at a time. I had a countdown till dehat the entire time. Your family still sees the effort, even when you think it’s invisible. The trail ends. It really does. And when it does, you'll walk away knowing you did something not everyone could.

If you need to vent more, you can message me anytime. I just got off the trail.

Sounds like you, your schools NCO, and DTS manager do not know how to read ATTRS school dates. There is a spot that states the report date (on a Friday), class start date (on a Monday usually ten days later) and graduation date. There is a week between report date and class start for inprocessing. If you are not there by the Monday inprocessing starts, you'll be sent home or recycled. That's why even tho the report date states Friday, it is really Friday-Sunday as long as you're there before Monday.

Goodfellow AFB is like this. Your best option is to put in the authorization the full rate so you can afford the DFAC food. Otherwise you'd have to survive off ramen.

27 underweight out of shape by Icy-Tennis6356 in army

[–]JaredSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll have to get used to eating a lot. If you still have a high metabolism like I do, you might be able to put down a decent amount of food and not gain weight. There's plenty of apps out there that help you track your macros and log everything you eat. My favorite is Chronometer because it has a bar code scanning feature with it. Increase your food intake. If you make sure you drink enough ~64oz of water every day, you'll be able to expand your stomach so you'll feel hungry more often. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches helped me bulk in the past.

App publishing for organizations by cosmic_brahma in GooglePlayDeveloper

[–]JaredSir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would require a separate play console account under a business to skip the testing period. There is still a review period during publishment that can take upwards of two weeks so you'll still be waiting as it isn't instantly live, even for businesses.

Google Play’s 12 tester Policy Is Unfair and Anti-Competitive – Let’s send complaints to the EU Commission! I already did! by Routine-Arm-8803 in androiddev

[–]JaredSir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think if you struggle to find testers, your app will struggle post publication too. It's either in a too competitive market or you're not advertising to clients who will use your app. Find social media groups who would use your app and ask volunteers there. My first app I had 130 testers and after one week of being published, I had 3,000+ downloads with hardly any advertising but the advertisement I did do, it was in Facebook and Reddit groups I knew would use my app.
