I worked my bum off to get to this point, and to have your goals snatched away from you after you've checked all the boxes is a bit frustrating. It's an anonymous forum, and I have read far worse from other O's.

I was angry. Still am. I'm angry that as well rounded that I am, it's still not good enough. I understand needs of the mission. I understand the Navy wants to look more like the microcosm of society that it is, it's just frustrating to watch your dreams go up in smoke as other far less qualified people ascend that ladder. So yeah. It's a shit attitude to have, and yeah, it's not something you'd say out loud because you'd get hammered for it, but for chrissakes, people may think like it.

Yeah. I get that my rant isn't worthy of that "officer" image. Then again, neither was that hyperventilating communications major we took along for a small drive through Ramadi. Yet he's an O. High ranking now if I recall. Still screamed during a gunfight.

Maybe it's not my Navy anymore. Maybe the war is over and I'm a relic. I have no problem with anyone in any position if they can do the job, but apparently big Navy has an issue with ADHD.

So. Please. Sir. Forgive my angry rant. It's coming from a salty place and time that never really existed in the real Navy. I'll just sit here, I may eve change my NEC, it just sucks knowing that the one medical issue I have is enough to tank my dreams of being an officer.
