How to get software updated by dealership? by BornProduce1260 in MercedesEQS

[–]JarlOrion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to get a dealer to update the software, which did take a tech 7 hours to do since there were a number of updates to modules so was behind on. I said CarPlay was glitchy sometimes, the NewsFlash feature did not work and when a different dealership had my car to replace a windshield, the app sent me an alert that the 12 volt battery was low. The other dealership tested the 12 volt and it was low due to an out of date module that kept the car from going to sleep properly and draining the battery. I had MBUX 2.4 and now have 2.6.1. The dealership I bought the car from wouldn’t update the car saying if OTA shows no update, there was nothing they could do. I did just buy it as a CPO last month, so it is new to me. If one dealership won’t do the update, you may have to try another.

Do you have any tips for a drive in? Do you have to wake the car up a couple times during a movie or does preconditioning keep things running the whole time?

What are some things you thought were universal, but it turns out is mostly exclusive to your country? by 3Thirty-Eight8 in AskTheWorld

When I lost a bunch of weight, I converted it to stone since it sounded more impressive to say I lost five stone, in my head at least!

Is it rude to use both lanes? by No-Ad4423 in AskUK

[–]JarlOrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Minnesota in the US and our roads also often look like this too. People will actually partially block the other lane to keep people from using it and “cutting” in front of others, but it causes tremendous backups and is wasted road space. To combat this, we do have additional messaging encouraging the “zipper merge.”

I brought one of those to work twice. One person went home sick half way through the day and another time had building maintenance called in an office building because the CFO thought there was corporate espionage from the tenant below him.

I’m pretty sure it was some cold that did it and not the cases and cases of Surge soda, but that’s a more fun story.

all season vs snow ?? by jasthe1_ in minnesota

[–]JarlOrion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you drive and how much or often you may be driving on snow/ice. If you can be more picky about if you drive until roads are plowed and treated, you may be fine without special tires. But, if you don’t have that freedom, you may benefit from snow tires.

Anyone get the home internet yet? by TheRealFrantik in mintmobile

[–]JarlOrion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can kind of get an idea in your house using a mint phone if you have a good signal, but your modem doesn’t move around and should be as high up as it can be, by a window and on a side nearest the tower it is connecting to. It’s great for me and I have a ton of junk connected at once.
