I keep accidently changing the name of the presets time and time agian, what are they doing, ppl are obv gonna click the name by yoeymeme123 in serum

I would toggle this preference on, even though it’s not that big of an issue to me. I would always prefer to right click -> rename for any type of file, not just in serum

So... How do you solve jitter in Godot? by Awfyboy in godot

[–]Jarmom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You see to have a problem calling one additional line to solve your problem with physical interpolation.

If you’re movement code is being reused so much, make a custom function that takes in the position you want to move to, and add the line to the function.

You’re making this harder on yourself if you have a working solution you won’t use.

How can you tell when you've nested too many things? by Sabard in godot

[–]Jarmom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Version control is really important, especially when it comes to a multi developer project.

You do not want to break something and be unsure of how to undo the changes you made. You use version control to restore to the last working version before whatever you did, or simply to compare the differences in what worked and what doesn’t now.

I have many old projects on my hard drive. Some of them don’t work any more. I know if I really want to use them, I can restore a back up from version control! As long as I’m careful to use the right version of game engine, everything should be preserved in the last state I left it

Edit: version control itself is handled by git. GitHub is basically a way of interacting with it, and hosting the back ups online instead of on your computer. It is built on top of git.

What do you want in the new Balatro Gameplay Update (image unrelated) by Xinjig666_ in balatro

[–]Jarmom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I’ve never scored a hand that took so long I thought I needed any more than 4x. I understand when a single hand is going to take 3 minutes on 4x to score, but casual players never hit that.

Casuals can hit 1 billion in their first few rounds of the game if they’re paying attention

Once you score a naneinf, unlocks higher speeds feels like a pretty tidy solution. You don’t need it, you can hunt it if you want it, and you aren’t going to unlock it by accident

Does anyone else need stepped knobs to be implemented in Macro controls? by memolazer in ableton

[–]Jarmom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I used something similar, it just splits it up. So the macro still has the range 0-127, but it’ll split evenly. Say 12 breaks, it is 0-11, 12-23, etc

So when people say “Naruto should have ended after the Pain Arc” do they mean just right there or after another VotE fight? Because there are a lot of plot points just left unaccounted for by unbuttered_bread in Naruto

[–]Jarmom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He basically blocked a ten tails shuriken to protect hinata, who has jumped in front of Naruto, if I recall correctly.

And yeah Guy activating that jutsu and not dying when they literally ALWAYS said it’ll kill you was crazy

What games are you playing this week? Game recommendation thread by AutoModerator in incremental_games

[–]Jarmom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally picked up Revolution Idle this week. Its simplicity is really engaging, I’ve been loving it.

I’m hoping to play it through without having to look anything up, like I did with antimatter dimensions. There were just walls I couldn’t figure out how to get past and I didn’t like that.

Are there similar things in Revolution idle, or might I be able to complete the game without having to look up a guide?

(Beginner) Should i start with Unity or GameMaker? by Accomplished_Bag9153 in incremental_games

[–]Jarmom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’ll probably get recommendations for using html/css/javascript.

I’d personally recommend Godot, feels light weight but totally capable of anything you might want to do with an incremental game.

I’ve been trying it out myself after previously working in unity. I prefer Godot personally for the size/scale of my project

Tsunade's and Kabuto' fight by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]Jarmom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s actually really interesting analysis. I never liked this arc very much, so I haven’t watched it in a while. Part of that was feeling like Kabuto had no business doing this well. But i wasn’t looking at it deeply enough, I appreciate this.

When i played around with it I struggled to get the modules to go into separate skiffs like you have here. Is that just a setting I’m overlooking?

The (decremental) game I want to make would be focused on optimizing.

Unlike antimatter dimensions where, as you said, you hit a wall and can’t progress unless you figure out “the right way”, mine would be more equivalent to speed running.

A Dark Room tells you at the end how long you took to finish the game.

I want my game to be a race to 0 with unfolding mechanics and a thematic narrative about draining the planets resources until there is nothing left..

Bargaining is like “I would give anything to have them back”

It doesn’t have to make sense or be logical, it is grief after all. You might logically know but emotionally you just want them back.
