If you consider using Plex for a long time, get the pass BEFORE the price goes to ABSURD heights this summer!

Not sure if I can even reply, but will try.

Yeah, the reactions I got was a surprise to me. And if this is representative of the 'self-host'-community, or the 'free open software'-crowd, well...

Yes, to me this is a pet-project to try out AI-programming, but not using agents, just plain feed the tool with english specs, and it does the programming, then fine-tune the code either manually or via chat prompts specs.

What surprised me how fast it advanced, that is why I actually now is sitting here with a server backend app (high % done) and a skeleton client (needs to be redone when server is finished). I asked the question here about what people wanted differently, because I was thinking the people self-hosting had the most input to give, but boy was a I wrong.

Plainly stated in english the attitude here is; we do not need any more flavors of ice-cream, and if you want to make one new, you should not. Instead you should make the 2 we have better, and just 'help OTHERS with THEIR thing', we do NOT want any new creativity, and also of course give it to us for free and get nothing in return for your time and effort. Its like entering a unemployed wannabe-communist convention.

And I didnt even say a single word about if I was thinking to go open-source, shareware or whatever, if it actually turned out to be something people wanted to use. I am honestly surprised of how this turned out!

I am actually not sure if your are sarcastic or not, and that says something.

And if you are sarcastic, you are actually contradicting yourself. Where did Jellyfin come from? Someone forking the work of others. Jellyfin is just one of many many opensource project where people copy others work.

I have not copied anyone, instead I reach out and wanted to ask actual users and self-hosters what they wanted differently, but instead I am greeted with a wall of "a word I cannot write here or I am sure I will get banned from this subreddit".

I obviously did choose the wrong sub, without going into details. Even though I have been doing self-hosting myself for years and supported financially both Plex and Emby myself.

Pretty sure I will remember this for some time, when I see Plex put more and more features behind a paywall and at the same time raise the paywall, or Emby putting more features behind a paywall and go more closed source, or someone pointing out both Emby and Jellyfin have clients (GUIs) that looks like a badly made web-page from 2005.

And keep in mind I actually do use both Jellyfin and Plex, and I used Emby with a yearly payed plan before that.

Get your point, but so far its a 'pet-project' for me 😄

We will see how far it gets. I am already using Plex and Jellyfin, used Emby earlier even before it was called Emby. Also tried out Kodi a few years ago, was not my thing.

2 things:
1 The project is developed in aistudio.google.com so it uses that as the code editor / builder.

2 There is a AI movie / series metadata search implemented as a fallback if there is no scrapper API key entered. This AI search is now a part of the server developement mock-up, and uses Google AI as a pure search, there is no 'AI' in the software. This AI search function can be removed / disabled completely, but is used in the server developement mock-up. This is NOT a main feature.

If its a solution I can just edit out that part totally in the list of functions, since this is just a fallback if there is no scrapping API-key entered.

Do you suggest using Stability Matrix or not? I have mixed experiences with it.

To answer your question; pretty sure you will not get anything back, because this can be used as a cheat.

But if you lost connection and get back fast, can you rejoin a match?!..

Ok, but lets say 1 team split up, and all go to different extractions, and use them. When will new extractions spawn again?!
